PoExplorer, a new shop indexer

It's quite new, compared to similar solutions like Solr, but it is, in my opinion, much better! Big companies like Foursquare, or Soundcloud started using it.

I added a helpful tooltip that shows up when you type the socket combination, and shows you what the sockets might look like.

I added social authentication (facebook & twitter). For those who hate this stuff, you can still sign up/log in the old school way, don't worry.

(If you already have an account, go here: http://poexplorer.com/users/edit and you can link it to facebook or twitter)

Does anyone else feel using a site like this goes against the spirit of the game as was intended to be played, without an auction house?

I sort of enjoyed D3 at first. That was up until the moment I clicked the AH and bought my first item. I had no incentive to play the game to find loot on my own anymore.

It all seems too powerful. I thought GGG was against an auction house? While this is not an auction house proper, it's pretty damn close.

That being said, you are a very talented developer. Congrats on your hard work.

You still have to find the buyer and haggle with him.

This is like using google to find a restaurant, a movie theater, a tire shop or whatever.

What Tomorrow said.

The problem is that it's close to impossible to find the items you're looking for without it. Or at least very time consuming. And I agree that the AH ruined D3, but spending 2h looking at random threads hoping to find an item is not that fun either.

I think most agree that it's just helpful, and that even with this tool, your items are far from being just a click away, like in D3.
