PoExplorer, a new shop indexer

love the site so far, it seems really well made but needs a bit of polish functionality wise

Some questions:

is there any plans to have the ability to sort items by date posted? I usually like looking at newest items first, and pretty much disregard anything older than 3 days. Or is this functionality already built in by default? I'm sure if you want to save yourself some time, you could set your items scraper to only register items that are newer than say, a few weeks. If an item doesn't sell in after a few weeks the seller probably isn't bumping it, doesn't care, or has forgotten about the post completely. How often do you scrape for items?

This will be my go-to shop indexer. its already far surpassed the other two from what little i've seen. Especially if you can keep older results (abandoned posts) out of the results.

Hey guys,

PoExplorer is just another shop indexer like poe.xyz that you all know and love.

Here's a few things I tried to do with it:
- nice interface (probably will redesign the whole thing later though)
- display the sockets the way they are in game
- facetted search (left sidebar, it's pretty useful)
- search for verified items only (at least when I indexed them...)
- sorting (DPS, damage, armour, level etc)
- can search for as many mod as you want (I only knew about poetools at the time)
- fast

I plan on adding additional features later, like favorite searches for instance, but we'll see.

For those who've seen the reddit post, I have updated the site since, and indexed a lot more stuff (around 200k items).

Feedback/features idea/bug reports welcome! Thanks <3

Great tool , good UI , Grats. I have experience in UE/UI as project lead, and your template is nice , easy to look at, nice colors, great webapp look. Overall great work on the look&feel!

** IMPORTANT **
One thing i'm slightly worried about is what do you try to accomplish with the log in?
I'd recommend everyone NOT to create an account, because there's no need, no gain in doing it , and you just provide your email to someone that doesn't NEED it. for anything AT ALL.

Plus the way you worded your signup form is sketchy "Login" instead of Username, no disclaimer saying people SHOULDNT USE the same login as in POE. Are you just fishing for emails to get a mailing list , maybe sell it to other sites?
Why do you need people to login or signup AT ALL???

Those are the only things that make me think twice about your site.
@demivion: next time I deploy, items will be ordered by their "indexed at" date. I also store the "last updated at" date of the thread, so maybe that'd be better...

@incugus: you're right to be careful, but in this case, you're too careful ^^. I just needed authentication for my admin account, and it made sense to me to allow users to create an account as well. I plan to release features that will require you to be logged in later, like favorite searches. I'm not doing anything with your emails and your passwords are encrypted, as they should be :)

The problem is that I don't currently reindex or update items I already indexed, to make the indexing more performant. If I wanted to keep the "thread updated at" date up to date, I would have to update every item I find, every time. I can certainly try it, see how much it slows down the process. I agree that it would be very useful.

can you please separate mods by prefixes and affixes? this is the one major thing that every indexer fails to implement

you could add the dmg of the weapon.currently we only see the mods/phy dps/ele dps but we dont see the actual dmg like 93-203 physical dmg.the only way to see it is to go on the poste itself of the seller.for me its a big turn off to use it.still prefer poe.xyz currently.

Could you explain why it's important? Is it just more convenient or is there another reason? In case you didn't notice, you can search within the dropdown.

You're not the first to ask, and it's pretty easy to do, so I'll do it.
