You know? I can't believe I don't have that in the guide. My very first RF build I built around Fire Pen. Little did I know I wasted the whole league because "Penetration" only applies to Hit...which of course, RF doesn't do (being a DOT).

I went to check your gear but there wasn't much left. Let me know if you go back to the build and I'll try and help out.

It does not. DOTs cannot be converted. Only Hits.

I'm glad you're enjoying the build! Good job making it your own too! I actually had Holy Flame Totem in the build last league. With this build, it'd conflict with EE. It'd also require a bigger investment into mana regen. In your ascendancy, you'd also want to switch Ramako for Arohongui. It deals about the same damage and gives you defence.

If you're not going HFT, I'd go with something practical. Like putting Cyclone in the 4 link and adding Culling Strike. I can't really think of anything else off of the top of my head for the rest. I'll reply again if I think of something in the middle of the night.

I've been playing this build (with the tweaks JCOH35 made) for a few days now and while it is great in general and I managed to get up to T16 maps for like 100c worth of gear, the lack of boss DPS is starting to become a real problem.

Drox for example on awakening level 4 was impossible, he kept spawning those shield flags faster than I could kill them.

Also any T16 map boss or metamorph with life regen can regen health faster than I can burn it away.

How can we get better boss DPS or have I reached the limit of this build?

Hey Khurune and cztk!

Good question! RF is a late-game skill. It requires a lot of investment. There's a small section in the guide that is easy to miss. Here's what it says about RF:

"In case you didn't notice, RF can't be sustained right away. Without life regen focused uniques, RF can typically be sustained after you've completed the story and are into mapping. To sustain it as soon as possible without needing any gear (except links), try the following:

- Select all the nodes on the Passive Tree as they come. Get all the South nodes first, then work your way up. Don't skip any. (The Life Regen per Endurance Charge nodes are the MOST important.)
- Equip and start levelling your Stone Golem as soon as it's available.
- Equip and start levelling your Purity of Fire as soon as it's available.
- Equip and start levelling your Holy Relic as soon as it's available.
- Fight on Consecrated Ground.
- By the time you kill Arakaali (the Spider Boss in Act 7) you can select the Pantheon option that unlocks (Soul of Arakaali). Have that and the minor God, Soul of Abberath selected.
- Do the first 3 suggested Ascendancies.
- Get those Endurance charges up :).

You can sustain RF with gear in other ways, of course, I just thought you'd like to know the soonest you can run RF no matter your gear."

I know you've already had some great help so I won't step on their toes, but with the above list, you should be able to sustain RF without gear around level 55 to 60.

SSF RF! Good for you! I would suggest crafting a chest piece. You can get some great mods and high life rolls that don't mess with the build. Also, I'd maybe try a 5 link first. It's 150 Fusings compared to 1500. And 150 isn't much to get again if you don't like what you have as a 5 link. You know?

Then again, no one would think you're foolish for 6 linking your Belly...especially if you had high life rolls on all your other gear.

I hope you're enjoying it! Metamorph is crazy with Chaos Damage. We can't ignore those resists anymore at all :(. If you're stuck on Kaom's then just make sure that all your other life rolls are high. In regards to your amulet, I'm not sure if it's on purpose or just a mod "that's there", but just in case, Fire Pen only applies to Hits, not Damage Over Time. Eventually, you'll be able to replace your weapon with a rare that has as much increased damage and also has a Fire Damage Over Time Multiplier.

Everything else looks great!
