Weapon effect mtx not applying to skin transferred hand of thought and motion claw

As you can see here, I have the stalker weapon effect equipped and there is no effect.

In this image, I have the Sunstone effect equipped with no effect displayed. I own the Legacy, Azure, Azure Seraph Weapon Effects and they all do not work.

When I switch to my Wrangler Blade mtx, the weapon effect shows:
