Just checking, you guys still having this issue? Cos I sure am. VPN seemingly fixes the issue, but underlying problem seems to persist.

If using a VPN fixes the problem, then it confirms what Fitzy is saying.
When using VPN you can check and see that you are getting an other route to the servers = bypassing the ISP piring problem....

It looks like there might be a problem with Telstra's backhaul or something. Perhaps during peak times, as I can't reproduce this now (ping from that server to your address is around 30ms).

Appreciate the follow ups, Fitzy.

I'm still getting these laggy instances randomly too. It definitely seems like a telstra backhaul issue.

This is from today, 01/12/19 at 1pm Brisbane time.
Lag spiked Map instance:

More Stable/Normal ping Map instance:

Normal instance either completely bypasses a hop from Telstra or that "No Response from host" is a timed out initial Telstra connection.

Edit:
Here's one from my hideout, again looking like the hop from Brisbane Telstra to Sydney Telstra giving it a kick in the guts:

I'm still having the same problem as well. The ping is usually good in the morning and gets worse throughout the day. The ping is also bad in HO, not only in the map, but it spikes more while running maps.

Happy to do so but please excuse my ignorance, how do I obtain the instance IP?

When you are in a map, you open your client.txt file and find the instance IP there.

Cheers, thanks for that. For anyone else wondering, the client.txt file is located in the drive you saved Path of Exile, under Grinding Gear Games / Path of Exile / logs / Client

Latest tonight:
Connect time to instance server was 78ms
Connecting to instance server at 130.198.89.178:6112

This morning:
Connecting to instance server at 130.198.89.178:6112
Connect time to instance server was 15ms

Previous night:
Connecting to instance server at 130.198.89.187:6112
Connect time to instance server was 78ms

Previous morning:
Connecting to instance server at 130.198.89.187:6112
Connect time to instance server was 16ms

So for each day there's a different instance IP and the connection early is very fast. As the day progresses there comes a time when the lag hits and the game becomes unplayable. Right now I'm sitting in my hideout and watching my lag bounce between 70 and 200.

About the only thing I can do right now is trade, and that's dull.

Today seems more stable, looking at WinMTR hops of Brisbane to Sydney Telstra backends have been rerouted/turned off and hopping to a Melbourne/Other services instead?

Still very very slight rubber banding when on 168 IP instances compared to 130, but a whole lot better than it has been. No packet loss either like there was over the weekend.

Here are a couple of pastebins from instances.

168 IP Host

130 IP Host

past two days was good
