4.0 is probably a bit more than a year away. We're not really sure exactly what will come in between 3.9 and 4.0, but likely nothing else as big as 3.9.

Yes, we do know. Chris explained it at Exilecon. We will still be getting challenge leagues every 3 months so we'll get 3.10.0, 3.11.0, and 3.12.0. Beyond that it'll depend on whether GGG is ready to push out PoE 2 (PoE 4.0.0) or they need 3 more months so a 3.13.0 challenge league would be needed. If it goes beyond that (3.14.0) then something is seriously wrong with PoE 2.0.
