The main thing I changed from BrittleKnee's base was to use a +3 Minion Jewel w/ lv18 Minion Life helm filled with Vaal Summon Skels for what I call "Armageddon on Demand." Mostly use it in Blighted maps for bosses to gunk them up and obliterate them, but it's proven useful on UElder too.
I hope that when the world comes to an end I can breathe a sigh of relief; because there will be so much to look forward to.

Yep, the aim of this build is to focus on and scale detonation, you're exactly right. Infernal Legion is a great stand-in until Fortress Covenant/Tavukai, especially while leveling, but having fast, high-damage explosions seemed far more valuable to me than a bit of burning damage before detonation.

Weeks 1-2 while Tavukai and Fortress Covenant are overpriced what tempt options do we have beside Infernal Legion?

Infernal Legion is really the only option to try and scale for Minion Instability/detonations without Fortress and Tavukai. You can go for Siegebreaker to try and pad the damage the SRS do on death a bit, but I'm afraid it will likely be fairly expensive from the start as well.

You can try a more pure-DPS specialized tree like my main SRS guide/build, as that one can help you pack a punch until you are ready to scale detonations.

Another option would be to temporarily be a zoo build, and work in other minions for extra damage.

I wonder if Infernal Legion + Maligaro's Lens will be fast enough (the extra healing seems insane as well).

Decided to run the Popcorn build from the get go except using skeletons + Infernal Legion + 2x Earendel's Embrace till the other items become more affordable (which shouldnt take that long since legion is now Zana buyable).

Any idea of the impact of +1 minion gems verus ~50% minion damage?

Landed this in a few alts and ran with it rather than purchasing something. Minion resists doesn't do anything bad since I am using Covenant/Tavukai and not Infernal Legion at all.

If you're familiar with PoB, I would craft an identical wand that does not have the +1 and give it ~50% increased Minion Damage. You can do this by using the 'edit' function then copying the stats from the existing wand. From there you would craft a new rare wand with no modifiers, click 'edit' again then paste in the text from the other wand, but deleting the line for +1 and increasing the value of the increased damage accordingly.

I can't say off hand weather it would. The extra level means more base life which gets scaled, so I'm thinking it would be, but I hesitate to draw a conclusion without testing it in PoB.

Using your POB (the latest one linked with fortress added in) with only base version and no forks, the wand increases instability explosion to 347731.7 from 325948.6. Not too bad at all. However, they're nerfing convoking wands mod rarity in 3.9, so I suppose it'll take a thousand alts to hit +1 minion gems now.

Very nice. A good amount of increase. I had my suspicions but I just didn't want to say without proof, y'know?




Hi, everyone!

I will indeed be updating this guide for 3.9 so don't worry! I'm currently hoping to have everything updated across all builds within 24 hours.

Very excited to see what these new unleash/echo awakened gems mean for the future of the build. I had a hard time sourcing enough cast speed to hit my minion limit, so if its an extra skull or extra repeat, it would reduce the amount needed.
