Blight League Rewards Purposefully Made To Look Ugly by GGG?

Why did GGG make these Blight rewards so horrible looking and not worth striving for this Blight League? The helmet looks atrocious, it literally looks like a glowing cancerous tumor, the wings look ugly and the portal you get at 24 challenges looks worse than the free twitch portal that they gave out last month to Twitch Prime/Amazon Prime members and there are a lot of people with Twitch/Amazon Prime, which took us no effort except for having a twitch prime account, why would they do this?

I understand that you have a business to run and the majority of revenue you get is from mtx sales, but to sacrifice 1 or 2 at least decent looking mtx for challenges that your player base can strive for? We are essentially acting as beta testers during temporary leagues for GGG for when they have to roll out stable content for Standard and we do it FOR FREE when there are paid beta testers out there for games and we don't get to have at least decent looking challenge rewards? I know it's probably too late to even suggest this to them because they won't bother changing it but I honestly think this will affect how the community perceives the league. For a lot of PoE players, the rewards are what engages them to even try out the league knowing they can potentially earn some cool challenge reward mtx if they put enough time into the game, it gives an actual sense of WHY you are playing through the new content and not just acting as a beta tester that doesn't get paid or appreciated in any sense and if this is taken away, what reasons are left to try the new league out anymore besides to just try the new league mechanics? To be spoiled with such nice mtx rewards in the past like Monolith Aura Effect, Delve Canary Bird, The Betrayal cloak and now this...?

And before someone chimes in with their "challenge rewards have to fit the theme of the league" rhetoric, the rewards being "themed around the league" is obvious and not what I am getting at. The rewards were ALL themed around the league in the past but there's a difference because they actually had AT LEAST 1 decent looking reward in the past leagues (Delve had a canary, Betrayal had a good looking cloak, Legion had a good looking aura). And you can argue your subjective opinion likes the blatantly obvious ugly looking Blight rewards just to avoid controversy and not get anything actually solved with real output, which is outlined by their youtube video ratings, but this is clearly not the case. You know how you can tell even the devs know that these Blight challenge reward mtx are meaningless and ugly? Because you can take a look at how the actual good looking mtx looks like from the supporter packs that are also "themed around the expansion." And at least there was somewhat of a balance with Legion and previous leagues where the challenge rewards were in the same theme but at least somewhat comparable to the supporter pack mtx in terms of quality, even though of course the supporter pack mtx was always superior to the challenge rewards mtx, but with Blight, this is just on a completely different level in terms of the challenge rewards not being worth striving for due to how hideous they look. Thus proving their beggars can't be choosers approach they are taking towards Blight challenge rewards this league.

You can check their Youtube Video itself of the Blight challenge rewards, it has more dislikes than likes, thus making it pretty objective to say that the majority of the PoE community does not like this leagues challenge rewards either. The saddest part about all of this is not only what I just mentioned, but also the fact that other PoE Forum users, who are only used to low effort PoE memes, only positive posts that are heavily monitored by the PoE Forum admins and no actual constructive criticism just because it happens to be negative, on here will go out of their way to berate, chastise and downvote the post just to either avoid controversy or claim it's being "negative" when it's simply outlining how the rewards could have been AT LEAST SOMEWHAT better this league and giving actual constructive criticism and I am not the only who shares this opinion considering their Blight Challenge Reward Youtube video has more dislikes than any of their previous league challenge reward videos in the past. I'm not just some "freeloader" either, I have spent my fair share of money on this game's stash tabs, skins, pets, etc. as I really do love this game, I just wish the reward aspect of this league would give AT LEAST somewhat decent looking rewards, even if there is only 1 decent looking one. I hope if they can't fix it before launch that they can at least not do us like this in the next leagues.

couple things here:

1) "free twitch prime rewards" arent actually free.

2) the helmet and the wings look terrible but so it was legion helm too, not sure who designs this and why perhaps because people get them for free it's made on purpose to look as shitty as they can be? the only decent one this league is the portal.

3) leagues are mostly based on microtransactions, fotm and celestial effects/skills, if you believe they actually balance for something else then I suggest reading more the forums.

even the armors/weapons look like trash on purpose to make people "care" about the looks, some do and give in and just buy a microtransaction set others just a support pack for the stashes and other qol.. it's a gold mine business the deeper you go..

Agreed, I don't think they are even trying anymore, since these cosmetics are free.

I consider many of PoE mtx to be ugly, but they have some themes I just don't like.
You can expect some new armors in similar style but 80% better than the free mtx from the support packs or league rewards in new gamble box or as standalone MTX for $40-$70

I have bought a lot of supp packs and I have many armor pieces by now...

But I can easilly dump 80% of them as I just don't like them as proportions are off and they look ugly imho. I usually have problem with boots/legs part, or armor is just poorly scaled for some classes.

Hydra armor for example just look really bad on every single char except Berserker and maybe Duelist.

To be honest I feel like people in charge for both free/payed MTX are less "hit" and more "miss" for all this years, but it looks they are doing fine regardless.

yes. they might be the worst challenge rewards i ve seen so far.

They were, but not for purchasing regions.

They are thematic, they go perfectly with Blight, where you drain an eggsac (helm), and fight on Tendrils (wings) that are brown/green (portal)

They...seem fine to me? They're in a theme, like all the other rewards. They've done loads of themed sets of cosmetics, so it'd be silly to expect them all to be to your taste; every now and then you're going to run across a set you don't like. I mean it's a shame for you, for sure, but it is nonetheless entirely normal. Certainly not a reason to conclude they're actively trying to make their game ugly (a, uh, fairly questionable business plan, I'd say).

This is nonsense. You playing the game is not a service you're generously providing to GGG, it's entertainment. Paid testing is not entertainment, it's work. It is not just "here's a game, play it at your leisure (or don't); have fun!".

Hydra armor "wobbles" a lot. But that's for a lot of characters. I wonder if GGG is going to make something about it with the 4.0 character models redesign, but at this point i have little to no hopes when it comes to adjusting old stuff to new tech.

really those wings are one of the worst looking challange leagues rewards ever
