[3.8] The Zombie Trail (Bubonic Trail zombie loop)

How it works:

Quick Explanation:

Use bubonic Trail to explode zombies (which count as corpses using Aukuna's Will). Heartbound loops deal damage to the character, but Maligaro's lens negates the damage and even heals us, allowing a cwdt loop.


Items required for the loop:

Makes zombies count as corpses. Walking near them detonates them.

with Necromantic aegis, the zombies heal nearby allies (you)

deals damage and activates Cast when damage taken Raise zombie.

gives the zombies high base life.

If you want an ungodly amount of zombie HP, you will want to look for an Elegant Hubris Jewel. Mine adds 240% minion HP in an efficient location. The build however works fine without one.

Damage
Damage for clearing maps comes from the boots "Death Walk". By stacking minion life and minion damage, Death walk explosions mow through monsters efficiently.

Additionally, a 6l elder helm can provide another high level cwdt exploding minion. I went with Holy Relic because it stays very close to your character and gets a huge amount of HP. Just support it with Infernal Legion and let it rip.

**Note** Raise spectre will work on your zombies, but the spectres will affect your zombie limit and eventually can break the loop.


Utilities
Herald of Ash helps with clearing. It also converts 15% of physical damage to fire. Blade vortex/Wave of conviction supported by combustion ignite enemies and lower their resists, making Death walk deal more damage. The fast hit rate of blade vortex also activates Elemental Overload for a more multiplier to Death Walk.


Technical Stuff

-It is important to use a belt with reduced cooldown recovery speed, as this applies to the cast when damage taken zombie loop. Bubonic trail detonates corpses every step you take. If you walk too fast, then you will consume all the zombies rather than re-summon them.

-Zombies have a delay when they are summoned, and they cannot move for about 0.5-1 second. The gloves also seem to favor summoning zombies on top of corpses, so to keep a chain reaction going, you will need enough AoE and minion movement speed. Make sure to use convocation as well.

Yet another clever minion build from Dream. And another step towards a build that summons once, goes to make a cup of tea and comes back to a finished map.

yes, Elegant Hubris is very random. It removes all mods in the jewel radius and replaces only the notables with powerful ones. If you get lucky, you can get minions stuff

One question came to my mind: Why do you use Combustion with Elemental Focus on the boots? Is it only for the more fire damage that combustion offers? Because from my understanding they should cancel each other out because the chance to ignite is nullified by elemental focus?
