Static Blows + Wrath aura?

I was wondering if, assuming I don't use a lightning skill, how effective will shocks be if I just use Static Blows + Wrath aura (with more elemental damage, more lightning dmg support gems)? Will the shocks last long enough for me to stack them, or will the duration be too short?
I'm aware that the duration of shocks depends on the life of the monster, so I guess I'm asking this mainly for merciless difficulty where the monster has more hp. Last edited by TheMipchunk#3171 on Mar 13, 2013, 4:53:16 PM

Wrath in combination with added lightning damage might do the trick, but generally if you want to shock with attacks that arent entirely lightning damage, you're going to have to rely on crit multiplier.

Wrath, static and quality Added Light and a high lightning damage weapon will probably be fine for most enemies. Without a lightning dmg wep, might be a bit sketchy, as BR says best to do it through crits and crit multi.
