Atlas reset and map management

How do people solve the issue with having hundreds if not thousands of maps in their map tab, when the atlas is reset? I don't have enough inventory space to trade the old ones in for new and I can't put the new maps in with the old ones. What's the point of the map tab if you cannot put maps in it?

U cna use the characters stash space for storing the old maps if u are short on space.

They either buy new map tabs, painfully transfer to non-map tabs (specially quads and if they don't have a mountain of maps) or get rid of the old ones (vendor 3-1 recipe, trade, run, delete, etc).
