If this game was bethesda
" I don't begrudge the initial investors from making a profit. They took a huge chance on an unknown Kiwi game company working on their first title. Since PoE has never been properly balanced, real melee (not the skills that are listed as melee but are mostly ranged like Tectonic Slam) sucks and can't be used in any racing expansion so it's dead for Synthesis. Developer balance isn't working either as the gap between the haves (elites/no-lifers) and the have-nots (casuals) grows wider with each new expansion. On top of this add in Chris' desire to drastically cut the number of players who can get to level 100 (only the super grinders with a good support team) and balance is an illusion/dream. But if Tencent will back GGG for the next 2 decades through any lean financial times and GGG is able to keep PoE on track with 4 expansions every year then all players should view that as mostly a win-win (yes, I'm thinking of the excellent Titan Quest Immortal Throne from Iron Lore and the company's death a mere 1 year later). "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

I would have been thinking more along the lines of..
Buying an IP that built itself pretty much from the ground up, put out some quality products in it's name only to find a way to alienate the majority of your player base in a single release... Yep, totally over league play.
