Any possibility of having some sort of "leveling tree" or pathing help? Also how does this compare to Champion AW ?

dejuventate can probably give more detailed info but:

I did this build as league starter

I lvled comfortably even with only (2) 4 links for warchief/protector - completed act 10.
Buy Brutus asap and it makes lvling much easier.
lvl 38 lets you use mult totems with protector (4 totems total)

For passives:
- Get resolute technique first ( shortest path via life starter nodes or dmg if you prefer that)
- Got ancestral bond ~lvl 30
- I chose to get Avatar of fire shortly after Ngamahu (ascendancy) for 100% fire
- Filled out templar nodes for dmg/life as needed
- headed south towards blood magic/lava lash after that getting life/dmg as needed.
- I got blood magic whenever I felt ready for it (you will lose dmg from no heralds/auras but gain lotsa life/QoL)
- Next I went for duelist nodes - Art of gladiator / golem's blood.
-Then backfilled for jewels or anything else i missed.
- finally went for scion life wheel / resist nodes.

After playing this build more I actually do not use multiple totems on Ancestral warchief for mapping anymore - i only swap out conc effect for Inc area of effect gem. mapping is still fast because you can still layout 5 totems as you go .

Thank you Milk103 for stepping up for me.

@b3nque
I havent tried the champion AW. But the numbers show the chieftain version has more potential dps, survivability, and sustain (due to totem leech).

While champion version is easier to gear, requiring less uniques, and less restrictive (can use any gear you want). You can use Kondo's pride -> starforge for example.

I personally prefer the chieftain version for huge QoL and sustain.

Milk is right on the money. A couple of uniques that can help you:
- astramentis at lvl 20
- the +100 str gloves at low lvl too
- meginord girdle or another belt that buffs dmg

I also rushed for ancestral bond (going down and path thru but not taking blood magic). I took blood magic way later when the mana sustain becomes a problem (around lvl 50).

With all the starter gear, basically at 28 when you swap to warchief (I am playing holy flame totem atm in Synthesis and I remember I got ancestral bond at 28), you end up with roughly 500 str. Which is around the dps that most people have at around 60-70. You'd breeze thru the story acts very easily with that.

All the best with this. I myself won't be playing this build this league so my response will be on and off. Sorry abt that.

Thank you for very much @Milk103 and @dejuvenate . I will go with Chieftain then and if all else fails I can probably reroll to Holy Flame totem. :) Appreciate the leveling tips!
I have really enjoyed this build. I have been using this amulet as a budget item.

Daresso's Salute Citrine Amulet

It gives a nice damage boost on full-life and gives some much-needed resists.
I've made a character with this build, got all the uniques ready except for the links in my loreweave. This build is just plain amazing, I had 0 issues running it. But I do have some questions.
Do you still recommend running a tombfist, even after the attack speed got removed?
Using Meginord's my CWDT set up as of right now is Inc Duration, Immortal call and blood rage. I know blood rage might be troublesome later on so I will def swap it for cold snap.
also I got another CWDT set up with fire golem and wave of conviction for the 25% resistance debuff.
I also tried using WoC with curse on hit and Flammability, but I do not know if both debuffs stack on top of each other. If they stack then it would be a whooping -69% fire resistance on hit with flammability at lvl 20.

WoC doesnt work with totem build (With the additional totem, you don't deal damage yourself, hence WoC doesnt proc ele exposure). Just cast flammability manually.

I don't play this build anymore this league, so I have no clue. My guess is Tombfist will still pull ahead except for low str situation. Intimidate gives 10% MORE damage taken (in the same category as the notable that adds 16% MORE dmg, so it's actually 1.26/1.16 = 1.086 => 8.6% MORE damage).

not sure if the chieftain rework is a buff for this build.

#6 sounds interesting.
"Ancestor totems have 100% increased activation range"
I interpret this 2 possible ways.
1)- you can walk further away from your totem before it de-activates
or
2)- your totem will have a further range it can see before it starts attacking? this one makes less sense tho because a melee totem would not benefit that much from it unless you have lots of AoE.

if it is the first option this would make the build an even better boss killer lol cus you could just run away 100% further after laying totems.

---------

#10, #6 look like they will be required.

then it would be difficult to choose between #12/14 or #8/3

with the additional changes to immortal call and defensive nature of the build I would probably lean more towards #8/3 especially if you have xophs blood which would further reduce benefits of #14.

Also the loss of 10% strength from not choosing #14 could be made of with meginords and #8 100% fire res would help ALOT in this build since i remember struggling to get capped.

I forgot to mention totem taunt is also gone now - so we would still want to use an abyss jewel for taunt.

adding this buff :
Blood Magic and Mortal Conviction
We've completely changed Mortal Conviction, the notable behind Blood Magic. It is now a keystone that restricts you to only one non-banner Aura skill, but removes the reservation cost. The mana cost of Herald skills and other specialised reservation skills will need to be paid with life in full.

This will let you take Blood Magic and an Aura without compromising available life, at the cost of limited options being available to you.

This will mean that builds that used Blood Magic and Mortal Conviction to reserve a very large number of auras while being protected by energy shield will be restricted to one aura. We may return this mechanic in the future on a more specialised source than the passive tree.

Get Your Totem Ready
it need to be Up 100% of the time especially at night)
I have a goal to kill Uber Elder on every ascendency (over the next few leagues).

I have a level 84 Chieftain and I have UE spawned. I was rolling w/ tec slam and incinerate, and found both of those were super challenging to win the fight with.

I respecced in to this build! I see lots in hardcore touted as boss killers in 3.7

Right now (pending buying 2 jewels) my DPS is super low. I did the UE fight and never died, but after 8-9 minutes the arena was just too cluttered with degen stuff and I succumbed.

What would be good ways to boost this damage? I have maybe 6 more points I could level realistically, up to 90 or so, but happy to swap gear or whatever. I have 9ex to spend, I just want to tic this box off.

Here's the character: https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/mcfierce/characters (McTectonic)

I'd love for any insight on to how to boost dps.
Hi, i have one question!

Why use ancestral protector in build if you already have a stronger totem in the build (ancestral warchief 6L)? When do you use this totem?
what's the advantage?

Sry for my Noob question, i just wanna understand!
