Random Crash to Desktop

Sifted through the Tech Support subforums but it seems as though there aren't any great threads regarding this issue.

Current I'm experiencing what others seem to be experiencing, Random lockup of PoE and a crash to the desktop with no information whatsoever. I've done the following:

-Verified the game's integrity [x]
-Updated my graphical drivers [x]
-Monitored the performance of the application and my hardware [x]

Lastly I checked windows event viewer and found the error that Path of exile was having but I'm not familiar with what's said

I'm having the same problem. Game closes without any errors. It seems to happen randomly (every 5 to 60 minutes, while mapping, while being afk in the hideout, etc.)

Tried reinstalling, setting compatibility settings on the exe, lowering graphics.

Example of one of the errors:

Everything I did to fix this issue:

First of all this problem is related only with directx 11 + windows 10, this is not a fixed if you have crashs or erros with directx 9 too, so... you probably updated your windows, updated your drivers and check PoE integrity of files, but nothing works, so follow this steps until fix.

Important: Always do the spteps with PoE closed. It's important restart the PC when I said to do, the problem is memory leak so the best way to clean the memory is restarting your PC.

1° step: Go to Documents\My Games\Path of Exile and delete production_Config.ini.
Open PoE and run somes maps to check if the problem is fixed, if it's not go to next step.

2° step: Go to Nvidia Control Panel (right click in desktop screen), in 3D settings click at Set PhysX Configuration, in Select a PhysX processor select your GPU (Graphics Processing Unit, ex: GTX 960, GTX 1050...). Restart your PC, open PoE again and run somes maps to check if the problem is fixed, if it's not go to next step.

3° step: Go to your folder where POE is install, find both clients: PathOfExile_x64Steam.exe and PathOfExileSteam.exe. Properties, tab Compatibility, check Disable fullscreen optimizations, check Run this program as an administrator, and check Run this program in compatibility mode for: and select Windows 7, do this in both executables. Restart your PC, open PoE again and run somes maps to check if the problem is fixed, if it's not go to next step.

4° step: Install the CCleaner, open the program and close all others programs, chrome (browser) include, and clean the Registry, u don't need save the backup, just fix all issues. Restart your PC, open PoE again and run somes maps to check if the problem is fixed, if it's not go to next step.

5° step: Remove all versions of Microsoft Visual C++ in your PC, you can uninstall these through CCleaner, if you have recent program's like new version of photoshop or any other program, you should install the 2017 version, otherwise install just the 2015 version, you can find the download link at official microsoft page for both (2015 and 2017 versions). Before restart your PC, clean the registry with CCleaner again, restart your PC open PoE again and run somes maps to check if the problem is fixed.

That's all I did to fix this problem and now I can play with Directx 11 without any crashs. I hope this solve your problem too and let me know what step solved for you.
I'm getting the same thing. I can go hours without a crash, or getting one every 10-20 minutes. This only happens in PoE.
As OP described, game freezes for a second or two, then completely closes itself without any errors or anything.
I checked windows event viewer for the application crash error and I've posted it below. (I use standalone, not steam)

Sadly didn't work for me. Also crashes on DX9EX.
But what i saw in the Windows error reporting is the following line:
P7: PCH_D7_FROM_ntdll+0x000000000009B4F4
I know that ntdll is an .dll. Does it maybe has to do something with the dll?
Might have found the issue:
I disabled multithreading and the game didn't crash once in about 7 hours (playing and being afk). Sucks to run around with 30fps though.

But weird that i didn't had the problem in the beginning of Dvelve.
In your event viewer before the Application Error Event, is there a Warning for Display, at nearly the same time?

No, the error is the first, followed up by the windows error reporting.
I keep getting random crashes, 4 in total tonight within an hour. This is what the event viewer has to say:

I ended up getting this error as well, but funny part was the program never closed.

The program aida64.exe version 5.99.4900.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.
