"Thanks for the compliment :). In the Passive Tree section I mention that it's ok to go a little out of your way for some big Dex nodes until you have the gear. But in every act the "gem sellers" have amulets that'll give good amounts of Dex. Their stock updates every time you level. It helps get you started. After that you're dependant on gear. So just keep your high Dex gear (Dex can be crafted too...just don't spend too much currency on crafting while leveling). I take the Endurance Charges as I pass them (instead of waiting) because the first Ascendancy node I take is the one that gives life regen per Endurance Charge. So once you've done your first lab (level 33), you'll be set without the need of backtracking. The 1 handed nodes under Master of the Arena are only for Attacks. BV is a spell so that isn't an option. Even though the damage on the 2 handed node is not specific to Attacks, this build is 1 handed (it could work with 2 though, you just have to change tons). I played through an Act with a different character to get BV, then restarted as the Marauder so I could use BV right at 12. I thought BV was great! I didn't seem to have any problems at all, but adhering to personal preference is always the best way to enjoy a build. So whether you use the skill with a totem or self-cast early on, or wait until 60, just make sure you actually like the skill :). I don't have any damage perks on the tree until the end (except for Ascendancy nodes) as BV worked fine for my preference. Having a flask that let me phase through enemies was a big help.

Am i supposed to use all my auras at once? Clarity/Purity/Herald
I cant even max out BV stacks without using a mana flask when using all auras, maybe im not supposed too? Am i playing the build wrong. :P Im able to sustain RF when i have my endurance charges up atleat, at level 57. I have been running without Purity on, just having it equipped to level it. This way I can spam BV as much as I like. But I would love some insight into how to properly play this, if I am doing something wrong. |

"I only have the Herald and Purity on all the time. Clarity is only in the socket list if you don't yet get mana regen on your gear. "You're not playing the build wrong at all :). The tree's focus is Life, Life regen, and Endurance Charges (some fire damage at the end). So all your cast speed and mana regen will come from your gear. It's really easy to get spread out over all the rares you'll wear. Everyone plays this type of build differently, so it's quite nice to have the option 100% based on equipment. 3.5's new crafting values make this build so much stronger than what I tested out in 3.4 as well. :) While leveling though, I too didn't hit 10 Blades for very long. It didn't matter though, BV is so strong it made leveling really easy (in my opinion). It doesn't take much cast speed and mana regen to get BV up to 10 quickly and sustain it. "There's nothing you're doing wrong. I don't know the tree path you took, your items, or the Ascendancy nodes you have, but the above question likely covered most of what I think you may have been concerned about. RF without any Unique Gear, Blade Vortex to remedy the low Boss DMG...Guide from triniparty...(his slow mo guide is amazing) I must give this guide a try :)
I Love SSF so i did many chars. For Bossing AC Warchief, Gladiator Agony For Mapping Arc Witch, Sunder Slayer Now im level 44. I level with the good old cast while channeling setup. First lab no problem. I'm very excited RF will work in the early 60`s... Slowly the gear drops and i tell later my experience. Thx triniparty in advance. |

I'm having a little trouble in the early stages. I've been using Sunder with success. BV is hitting like a wet noodle so its not really an option for me it feels like till later on... Would you recommend I just drop the axes and start going spell damage? Or continue trying to make sunder work till....when exactly? Sorry I'm fairly new to the game so I have a hard time making educating decisions lol. I don't want to wait till its to late or I wont have any damage and can't even make it to RF.

Awesome guide! i am using a slightly modded version, more BV, less RF.
Does your loot filter (its great) show uniques as well, regardless of thier type/stats/gems? I like collecting them :) |

Hmm, looks nice for me.
I`ll give it a try. Also - u can add some sweets to "leveling section" -if this is not first char, and u have some currency. U become able to hold up ur RF much earlier with 1 alt - 1(2) c items like : Springleaf, shapers seed, kikazaru (x2). Also for charges - lochtonial caress. PS: how we are againts Syndicate?
