idk everything is legal in the client as long as theres no automation software used

looks like GGG is just making rules up as they go along as this stuff isn't in the Terms of Use

There is room in the ToS for GGG to ban you for any reason they like.

IMO they should ban you right now, as it would seem that it would save them time in the long run as you seem to be incapable of seeing blatant wrong doing for some players and attack rightful punishment of them.

you are probably the same sort of person that thinks scamming is fine and hacks are a must have

nothing u linked is relevant legally

with regards 2 GGG being able 2 do what they want, no there is not room in the ToS for that. some dork spends thousands of dollars on MTX in a month and get banned because a GGG employee doesn't like him. is that Just?

At least they got some of those hooligans asses deported to Blizzard. Hopefully cc and personal information was not harmed.

You want to know your legal rights to your account? You have none. This might surprise you but GGG owns your account and everything in it, not you. They can say "I don't like this guy" and delete your account and you couldn't do a thing about it. Would they ever do that? Of course not.

That's how it works with every gaming account you have. I take it you're the type of person who'd steal a car because it was left unlocked.

Don't they ya'know, encrypt stuff? How did peoples own login credentials give them access to data not associated with that account? Surely the decryption would've failed!?

Directing a user's login process to the wrong information in the database shouldn't just let them access, read & modify it... that's nuts!

Need proper reading Due to a typo in a database key comparison function, It have nothing to do with encryption/decryption of login credentials. Some comparison functions was screwed, which Chris mentioned is fixed/patched back.
Good work here GGG, thanks for the honesty and thank you for banning the abuser trail.

What exactly was you hoping? Have an exact clause which mentioned if by one of GGG programmer mistake a comparison function gave access to not rightful owner and they decided delete/fool around then GGG will ban them?

blah blah Et Al.

so u think if someone spends a lot of money on the game, in say, a short period of time, and gets banned for no good reason within a reasonable time frame following those purchases, that they are not entitled to compensation? people spend MTX on the game because there is a presumption that they would get to experience the full measure of the effects of that MTX thru stuff like virtual items. A denial of that is a typical 'non delivery of products & services' and if for some stupid reason, it ever gets to the point where it becomes a legal concern, then any legal mind will rule in favor of the plaintiff.

what i think happened is that the people who got banned were just unfortunate enough to legally scam a few whales, and they themselves were either non paying customers or customers who did not invest a significant amount of money into the game. personally i find the whole debacle a bit trivial and GGG in their infinite wisdom (of lack thereof) should have been able to revert all transactions and resolve the matter without having to resort to banning 4 people. these people will probably never spend any money on the game ever again, nor play it for that matter--and they will spread the word of their negative experience to their friends.

Btw, surprised and glad only 1% of the players took advantage of the situation.
As always: transparent and well measured... and kudos for admitting the f**k up.

.... err... no. They banned pepole not for accessing (would have been 417 iirc) but for abusing this situation.

I mean: Should someone go unpunished after vandalising your flat just because you forgot to lock?
