"Area is Alluring" Sextant mod seems to increase XP gained by 10%

Good evening! (at least thats what my clock tells me about the time)

My buddy got a sextant mod called "Areas are Alluring" and asked me what it does. I didn't know either, so i asked Google about it. I didn't find a clear answer, most people wrote that this mod is part of fishing.
So my buddy just tried it out and didn't notice anything throughout the map. After he killed everything, he asked me to check the map, as I may find something out.

I ran along the map and checked my character sheet, looking for something suspicous. On the "Misc" tab I noticed the "Experience Gain modifier".

Im 99% sure this mod comes from "Area is Alluring". He made sure it's not a party buff by doing another map, without me in the party.
We both don't use any items, that increase XP gained.


I am posting this for 2 reasons.
1) I didn't find anything via google that tells me about that information.
2) I wanted to ask you: Am I missing out on something? Could that 10% XP gained modifier be from something else?
