How does the extra friend key work?

I had a friend who received a beta key and we were both super excited to play together. We were under the impression that after getting a key, he would get an extra key for a friend.

He's had his key for about a month now, and he still hasn't received a notification for an extra key for a friend.

Is that still how it works?

Friend Keys to the Closed Beta are issued randomly, not automatically. It can be quite a while before a Beta member receives one. It is also possible that, over time, a Beta member may receive more than one Friend Key.

Keep trying to get a key here on the forum, until your friend gets his. =^[.]^=
