The rat cage

Have a weird one. 'The Rat cage' keeps becoming unusable after zoning. The remedy is to un-equip and re-equip. I have the required stats for it to be usable, yet after zoning it says unusable until i do the above. Any ideas what seems to be the obvious i am missing here?

This used to happen if you had jewels in unallocated sockets.

Ahh that may be so. Respect'd a dormant toon in Std, quite likely to have dormant jewels. Thanks will check it :)
