Can i beat Shaper with my build? Indigon Discharge

hi, first time poster, 41 yrs old noob gamer, came from diablo 3 explosive blast build, tried discharge, fell in love, will i go far? thanks! any advice appreciated! urutsion is my character for incursion.

Your tree and your gear look very nice.

You also have my utmost sympathy for liking discharge, but in this particular case i'm not too fond of your skill choice.

Why?

Well, the basedamage of Discharge depends on the amount of charges you have, and in in your case that is 3 Power- or three Endurance charges, wich is not a lot for Discharge. In fact basically every other spell would have higher basedamage, to then benefit from the indigon multiplier.


Furthermore the skill forces you into melee range and on top of that spends your Endurance charges, wich could be used to gain 100% immunity to physical damage by putting immortal call - increased duration into one of your poet's pens.


All in all i'm certain your character can do it, but i'm not sure about Discharge. If it doesn't work out try out a few other other spells, whatever you like.

Thank for your reply, i just love the playstyle of discharge, but now im thinking about cold snap- immortal call combo as you mentioned about immortal call..

The thing with shaper, is that it's a mechanical fight. As long as you have enough dps to kill the mobs from the portal phase, and can deal with the mechanics, you can kill him. It's just that the longer it goes on, the more chances you have to fail to dodge and the degens can get out of control.

Unfortunately Cold Snap doesn't work well with Poet's Pen :/

Shaper has 40% resistance to all elemental damage. I don't see any elemental penetration in your build, unless I'm missing it somewhere? You have no critical strike, no Pain Attunement, and very few mods in your tree directed towards spell or lightning damage.

Your build is a long ways away from beating Shaper. You can try it, I could be wrong, but he will probably crush you in the first phase. You built so much defense in your charactor it would be too hard to switch. Defense is good for running maps but to beat Shaper you need damage, the Shaper fight is completely different from mapping. You need damage mainly because if you take too long to kill him, the vortex balls in the room will build up making it impossible to stay alive.

its like i dont need spell damage on my tree, all of that will come from indigon, its an indigon build, concentrating to max my mana.

His damage is fine for shaper all he'd have to do is switch one of the PP's to full BV and he'll do it fast as shit discharge or not ;)

but yeah should be perfectly doable no problem really.
