The Overpowered Discharge

So I've added another video - this time in Chaos. I decided to remake this build since my last landed in default (the horror!) and in record time I'm already in the top 12 in the ladder...soon to be top 10 - and it only took around 2 days and 5 hours played.

Video #3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f82aXALgVNM
Video #2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-tIgPDRPNM
Video #1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuUB6RpkxQk
Badass music in video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-tNUur2YoU

Sadly this video does not do this build justice because I cannot figure out a way to record the game without it absolutely killing my framerate - so you'll see some mistakes and some lag. I'm using Fraps and a beastly machine (dual SSD drives, radeon hd 5800, usually play all maxed at 2560x1600)...and I can't make a decent video everything turned down at 1280x1024! Well, here's the small snapshot at least. Usually I'm running near full speed and just hitting groups in 1 shot. If anyone has any FRAPs advice or other recording software suggests, feel free to help a brother out because even videos 1+2 were way better...

In this video:

1) Only 4-socket Discharge (Concentrated Effect, Chance to Ignite, Item Quantity)
1.5) Everything on the screen has Resist Fire ;)
2) 7 charges is over 10k without crit flask active or including Elemental Weakness curse.
3) Since I lost my last guy, I'm super defensive this time. 1650hp, 75% armor reduction, 81% all resists, 45% block.
4) Still have over 100% item quantity :)

Here's my gear...

I'm not even focusing on damage and destroying most mobs in one hit. If I focus on damage (%damage amulets, searing touch unique staff, etc) I can 1 shot even the toughest bosses....all safely behind huge defenses.

Discharge = Overpowered.

Nice combo of Discharge, Molten Shell and Immortal Call. Yep, looks pretty OP.

As for fraps... I don't normally have trouble unless I have other CPU-intensive applications running, and my rig is a bargain basement combo I threw together from Newegg sales a couple years ago.

your problem with fraps is that your writing to the same drive the game is on.

If you have 2 partitions (C: and D:) this is what you need to do.

Install PoE to Drive C or D then install fraps and record videos to the opposite partition.

eg. PoE is on Drive C then I would install fraps and write vids to Drive D.

This should fix your fps problems, if not. I'm sorry! I tried.

As for your build, it looks really interesting and a definite chaos farmer.

Any chance of releasing the passive tree build? Also how would one go about setting this build up? Looks fun!

if you dont want your build going public, thats cool. Just pm it to me! :p

Molten Shell = bad. It's gimicky and definitely NOT Chaos material. I've had it pop almost instantly to an extra fast elemental reflect boss and barely survived...even with 81% resist. I quickly removed it and have never used it since.

Here's the build: http://poezone.ru/skilltree/#ru

Basically you want to focus on getting endurance charges first because it's the largest gain of damage. Then it's burning and fire passives, then you start focusing on defenses later on (when things can actually hurt you).
Ah, sorry. It looks very similar to Discharge when it goes off right away. I should have noticed it wasn't on your bar.

So do you typically just avoid elemental reflect? Split off the normals with frost wall?

Yup, frost wall and keep going. I usually only handle big groups and with my movement speed I can really just avoid them easily. Not worth basing a whole build around 1 mob's possible abilities that you can just walk around (granted I have 81% fire resist so there's no mistakes).

Yeah Molten Armor is very much like Discharge but you can't control when it goes off - which can get you killed.

EDIT: I'll try that other HD test later, thanks for the fraps help :)

#9 in the ladder now and soon to be #8 :)
can you link your biuld please?:)
While that looks very fun and cool, it does not look overpowered. In video 3, an AoF Templar or Ranger would have killed everything by 0:05. That is overpowered.
