Continuous lag spikes

never claimed it was the server, though if you look at the amount of people with this issue, it probably has something to do with the server. at any rate if you wish to continue this conversation we can do it in PMs as to not spam this guys thread.

Yeah, there's only like DOZENS of threads about lag and disconnects in the past week. Not to mention POE has ALWAYS had disconnect issues since the start and NONE of these people have any issues with any other game or app at all. But yet there will still be people blaming your ISP in every thread.

So lately (meaning since incursion started) I have been having constant lag spikes, no matter what network mode I choose. I use ethernet.

I have tried all EU servers (I am located in Greece).

Here are the trace routes from all EU servers (the one I use the most is Frankfurt):

Amsterdam: https://pastebin.com/GYQwbWY7

Frankfurt: https://pastebin.com/f9DJ4Mdh

London: https://pastebin.com/AuxUPZ46

Milan: https://pastebin.com/1xXe87SF

Paris: https://pastebin.com/wgDqUw2n

Moscow: https://pastebin.com/sQvfqA5A

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to know whether this is on my end or not? The game is currently almost unplayable.

All of your MTR captures are showing latency spikes of 1-2 seconds introdced between your router and your ISPs first router. You can see this if you check out the worst column in these captures. The spikes are frequent enough to raise your average latency 30ms higher than your lowest - that's a lot of jitter.

I would recommend getting in touch with your ISPs technical support and sending these captures through to them.

Same here,

Lag spikes that freeze the game for half a second or so
Very well, I will contact my ISP and see where it goes.

I can confirm it is only happening on this game for me.

The run WinMTR while you play with the problem and come with proof for all to see.

I wasn't playing (or had the game running at all) when I did the test. Perhaps I should do so? Does it matter?
I am 99% sure, that this has something to do with the "GO" for the total Surveillance of EU Citizens. The DSVGO/Data preservation act. This is only the start. I am sure its (at least Germany/Austria Telekoms sides fault. I saw analysis of IT experts and they showed, that they change many things in the infrastructure and more. I am to much of a noob at this to give a proper answer. But I suggest searching the web a bit (non mainstream media), to find some answers.
So I ran winmtr on the Frankfurt server, but this time I was playing.

It's worth noting that most spikes occur when something is happening, like a skill or a lot of monster deaths.

In general, yes it dose matter....it's like travelling down a multi lane highway with every lane blocked bar one, if the road isn't getting used you can get through, if it is being used then you'll be stuck in slow moving traffic as it all tries to squeeze through.

In this instance though what ever the problem actually is it's significant enough to effect the test even when there is next to no load.

Anything is possible i suppose BUT that would effect EVERYONE not just a handful of people.

I have the same problems, started with Incursion League. With MTR I also see a packet loss from start to finish, ping is all over the place... Where should i start to get a better connection?

Frankfurt

Amsterdam

Moscow

London

You have a lag problem, not the SAME problem

In your case though the problem is starting at the router, your tests show anything from 1 to 4% packet loss and upto 1400ms+

You should pull the plug on the router leave if for a few minutes then try again (also run the test to see if you are getting the same sort of results) if it dose not clear up you will need to call your ISP
