www.pathofexile.com always redirects to /game when not logged in

Therefore, it is impossible to view daily news without logging in (which I want to do as little as possible). This is new behaviour, it wasn't like this two days ago.

When my session cookie expires going to https://www.pathofexile.com from bookmarks takes me to a page which says "Sign up for Free Now". So I click on Log in and after logging in get taken to my account information for some reason and then I have to click on Home to get to the actual news.
If I understand correctly the session cookie is set to last a month. Does this mean that this happens to every logged in user each month? I guess it's either 1 or 48,000. Nothing in between, right?
