[3.2] Oni-Goroshi Molten Strike + Reave Chieftain [2 Million+ DPS, Easy Bosses]

I'm planning to run this new race event in ssf hc and I've checked a ton of builds trying to find seomthing that is both viable and feels comfortable to my playstyle. Oni build feels good for several reasons:
1. it can 100% be obtained on ssf too
2. you get to start race/league/w/e with your endgame weapon
3. you have a 6l without wasting body slot for tabula

My question is, as I see that there are multiple layers of defensive strategies implemented in your char, do you think it's viable for ssf hc? Ssf is not a problem in terms of unique gear, because your only requirement is oni which you can and will get without a problem, BUT do you think it can still reach the 7k+ (maybe 8k at levels 92-94) hp and tankiness you have on your current char without buying gear? Second question is, do you think it would be viable for hc?

PS: btw, according to PoB on champion you lose leech, life regen, dps, hp so idk, maybe with gg gear its better than chieftain, not on your current gear tho

This is definitely a good build for SSF, since the gear requirements are pretty low, and easily farmable.

I don't play HC, but for HC, you may want to consider Jugg. Or maybe Slayer/Jugg Ascendant.
This build is definitely more defensive than most pewpewglass builds, since with my mediocore gear, I have around 8K HP, 60%+ evasion, 40% dodge... but I would imagine in HC you want high physical% mitigation over evasion.

I came up with 2 build variants which i'll be testing in the upcoming race:

Raider/Slayer: https://pastebin.com/DVfc6STS

Jugg/Slayer: https://pastebin.com/Ym3ELg7X

I didn't change any gear from my BSC character, so gear may not be optimal - but both look much better on PoB over Chieftain. I like the idea of leeching 4400HP/second, with 1100HP/second degen from OniGoroshi, that's still 3000+HP/S we're leeching. Haven't decided if I want to try Jugg or Raider yet.

I realized Chieftain doesn't really offer much besides no need for Xoph's Blood/Covered in Ash, which did save me 7-8 exalts in BSC - but breaches will be everywhere in the race.

Jugg has about 15-20% more physical mitigation (end charges) and no need for accuracy on gear - have 94% chance to hit with no accuracy on gear.
Raider obviously does more DPS/faster/onslaught etc.

I'll probably put out a guide for what I pick a week or two into the league.

Not many options beyond Blood Rage and maybe trying to fit in a Poacher's Mark - either via blasphemy/poachers, an Elder ring with Curse on Hit - Poacher's.

Not sure how well flickerstrike works without being a Raider or using a Terminus Est / Going crit.

Can't wait to see your updated build for the upcoming League.
Hi, Im currently playing beastiary at act 6. Kinda having trouble countering the debuff from oni goroshi. Where do i get the life leech from? TQ! Loving the build so far

You get the lifeleech from the duelist leech cluster (beneath vaal pact.) You can drop it later when you do your labs - Chieftain gets "1% fire damage leeched as life." (Hinekora). Try to do labs as soon as you can, as even the first few points are helpful - endurance charges + life regen, etc.

This build cannot be ran without leech - since you rely on leeching during the debuff, rather than just out-regenerating (like RF builds.)

The Arakali pantheon is also very important, you want that ASAP.

If you are really struggling, you can get a life flask of Dousing while leveling, which will remove the burn debuff while also healing you up.

Good tips. Gonna try that soon. Leveling is a breezeee. Thanks!
For those interested, I have been playing a new variant of this build during this Flashback event, with great success (and fun.)

I wanted to keep the general concept the same, but test it out with Ascendant Slayer/Raider or Slayer/Jugg.

By "better than Chieftain" do you mean in terms of HC or in general? I've been thinking about the build and I would really like to somehow incorporate Slayer overleech into it, either as Slayer itself or some Ascendant variant.

However, I dont see any way to convert the other 50% of lets say Flicker Strike physical damage to fire without going full Chieftain. Molten Strike is not a problem with its built-in conversion, but the clear skill most definitely is. The only way seems to be Avatar of Fire and that means losing 50% of our damage :/

Thoughts?

e: I saw your other guide, but I'm strictly talking about making pure phys skills such as Flicker/Reave work
