ascendancy refunds at merc gives 8 points

Hello

I was on my inquisitor (slowestpoke) and I have ran merc lab to respec. I have refunded all 6 ascendancy points that I had at the time and pick a different ascendancy class (guardian)

I was then able to allocate 8 ascendancy points - despite not having completed uber lab.

I had 1 spare passive point unallocated the entire time (on purpose) - not sure if that caused me to receive 8 ascendancy points instead of the appropriate 6.
