Remove death penalty for standard league?
Would this be a good idea to do maybe?
Keep the penalty for hardcore leagues but the standard league it would be gone? That'd make the game a lot more fun to me. Especially endgame. Last bumped on Feb 18, 2018, 5:11:00 PM

" And that's why it will never happen. If everyone had their way in standard Hillock would drop 6l, lvl 30 q 23 gems and all the other crazy stuff you can think about. If endgame is harsh spend time tinkering your build; getting better items not asking for the game to be easy because that would be fun to you. Plenty of people have fun playing on standard. If they can do it so can you. |

At some point, your character reaches a level where he maxes out. The game just isn't polite enough to tell you that. For me, it's about 92. Might make 93, if I'm really careful. But boredom sets in and I try something stupid and get sent back. That's the nature of this game. You decide for yourself when it's time to quit.

Oh not asking for droprates to be changed.
Not even asking for things to be ''gifted'' to me for free. But the endgame right now has a very eh grindy boring line of progress. I go do t1 maps.. Die twice or three times and in the end I am 1-5% more than when I started. A lot has to do with builds and the game depends heavily on the gear you got. As a new endgame player you just dont have the 20 chaos orbs or more to buy the gear you need to farm chaos orbs. So its a very tedious unfun process. Making it so you dont lose EXP when you die, is a simple way to make the game a little less punishing for not having a 6 socketed-linked unique item when doing T1 maps. |

I can tolerate the redcued exp gain of charactes from 95+ and the death penalty only if characters starting from level 95 will gain percentage bonus to map drop
The conditions: 1. character must be atleast level 95 2. character must killed atleast xx number of monsters in the last xx seconds (to prevent switching from other characters in order to farm maps) The bonus: level 95: additinal 3-5% chance that a rare/boss will drop a map of same tier or uptier level 96: additinal 3-5% chance that a rare/boss will drop a map of same tier or uptier level 97: additinal 3-5% chance that a rare/boss will drop a map of same tier or uptier level 98: additinal 3-5% chance that a rare/boss will drop a map of same tier or uptier level 99: additinal 3-5% chance that a rare/boss will drop a map of same tier or uptier at level 99; a player has a total of additional 15-25% that a rare/boss will drop a map of same tier or uptier the rng to map drops and the reduction penalty is already a double penalties. thing u got to remember is that people are hitting level 100 in solo self found hardcore league.
The whole point of having a game where you can make builds and having gear that you can find/craft is that those things matter. They matter because getting them right makes you stronger, being stronger matters because theres a reason to not die, and that reason is the death penalty. Its not fun because youre failing at it, and that xp loss is the game telling you youre failing. They dont want you to have fun, they want you to feel bad because youre doing something wrong and its not working. They want you to feel good when you do something right. These deaths youre suffering are an alarm bell going off, do alarm bells sound nice? No, theyre the most horrible sound possible repeating over and over at a horrible volume, theres a reason alarm bells dont sound like beautiful piece of music. Somethings going wrong, i dunno if its the build or the gear choice, but its something, and we know because we all failed first time round too. Experienced players can do this self found with a huge variety of builds and sail through to level 90 deathless. You need to reevaluate what youre doing, learn a bit more, try again. When you get it right, when you work it out, its gonna feel amazing because you earned it, you hit a wall, dusted yourself off and then climbed over it. The rewards are worth what you paid for them, if it didnt cost you any effort, if you didnt have to invest any time and knowledge then it would be a worthless payout at the end. Stick with it, look at how much life you have, are your resists capped? Do you have any other defenses going on? Something there is lacking, and theres gonna be a way to do things differently that result in you have more life or resist or defence or maybe all 3 and youre gonna succeed and it will feel great. Solving that puzzle isnt just essential to the game, it essentially IS the game. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :) Last edited by Snorkle_uk#0761 on Feb 17, 2018, 11:17:40 PM

" is this after the changes to exp gain or before because level 100 characters before the reduction to exp gain are irrelevant. Chaining maps without rolling 1 damage mod? Anyone can easily hit level 100 by constantly playing maps without rolling any damage mods but it's not fun. |

" Am I the only one who noticed this. I don't think losing 10% exp is the big concern when you die in hardcore... Edit: And as has been suggested in your previous thread you need to upgrade your gear by getting rid of all the crap and unnecessary uniques you are using so you can cap your resists and get some flat life. I see you have pretty much ignored the advice in that thread by adding a rare amulet but with no resists and a minimal life roll and Lori's lantern which has minimal resists and no life. Ok first of all you cant keep the XP penalty in hardcore , the penalty for death in hardcore is going to dumpster league.
Second if they actually made it so you could just yolo zerg to 100 in standard it would be even more dead than it already is as instant gratification folks like yourself would just leave after zerging to 100 . This OPs entire post reeks of casual entitlement . Last edited by Artaniz#4006 on Feb 18, 2018, 2:02:31 AM
