Constant 200 ping to Australia from NZ

Since this last update I have constant 200 ping minimum compared to the 50 ping I usually get
Last bumped on Mar 4, 2018, 2:30:20 AM
im getting this as well.
i had a lot disconnection from game sever yesterday,
i think that was the problem.
nothing to do with the new patch
Same, figured 200 stable is better than spikes... started playing and it suddenly spiked non stop... lost all the xp I got this week. I'm in Auckland and the California server is showing a better ping than Auz (180 - 190).

They're busy with next league roll out. Unlikely this will get sorted soon, which is a bummer, I'm still playing Abyss.
I will write something here when I can think of something clever and amusing.
It would help GGG if affected players could post a WinMTR log (here's a guide) so that the problem can be localised. Is everyone affected living in New Zealand and connecting to Australia? If so, that would suggest a routing problem rather than a server-side issue.

Hop 3 has the IP address 121.75.151.254 and is registered to Vodafone. From there your traffic is passed onto the fourth hop, which cannot be identified. At the fifth hope we see a massive increase in average ping from 22 ms to 165 ms. This appears to be the source of the problem.

If Vodafone are your ISP I'd recommend showing them the WinMTR route and explaining that you're having a problem either in their network or in that of one of their peering partners - they'd have more information on how they'd route your traffic to Australia than myself or GGG. If their customers are having problems, they should be able to pass on the log for you.

Having the same issue and in my case it appears the ping spike is in the first jump to the network layer.

I was running on under 60 ping constantly until yesterday. I am connecting to Australia server from NZ. Ping to Australia on Meter.net is 40~ms.
Will post, I did one earlier, and it showed no or very little packet losss... the ping is just bad, so not sure.
I will write something here when I can think of something clever and amusing.

There's a hop between Vodafone and SoftLayer which isn't responding.

You could e-mail techsupport@grindinggear.com to show them the log and see whether SoftLayer are aware of a potential peering issue with Vodafone. Wouldn't hurt for them to look into it.
