Massive Latency Issues Last 2 weeks

I've been playing POE since open beta and have never experienced this issue until the last couple weeks and now it is happening daily.

I'll get into a map, depths, or sometimes even my hideout and my ping will spike and I will freeze up then warp all over. Game becomes unplayable.

Seems a significant amount of other players are experiencing the same issue which makes it hard to believe everyone is having the same issues with their ISP.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If relevant my specs:

ethernet connection
ISP is Charter

i7-6700k
1060 gtx
32gb g.skill ripjaw v series
EVO 500gb SSD
MSI Z170A GAMING M7

Hello hasle1jb,

You're experiencing some packet loss.
I would like to suggest setting another DNS, just for testing purpose.

Trying with a different DNS, set your game "Network Mode" as Predictive.
Options -> "UI" tab -> 3rd option - Network Mode - Select: Predictive.

Once you test it, please let me know.

Thanks,
Assen
I will give this a go when I log on to play tomorrow and rerun MTR.

Thanks for the suggestion!

There is no packet loss, 522 packets were sent, all 522 were received by the server.

Also predictive dose not fix the lag problem, it hides it under a layer of prediction based off player input you are then synced to the server.
Any lag will produce inconsistencies between the prediction on the server and what is shown on screen and when you are synced to the server it results in rubberbanding (aka desync)

Updated DNS and changed to predictive.

feels a lot smoother, but it was smooth before until I would happen upon an instance where everything just lagged ---> froze up ----> super fast forward then rinse and repeat
sure enough, next map I went into, lag ----> freeze ----> DC

None of that looks especially conclusive to me, with those network traces. I know it's an ask, but my personal next step would be to grab PingPlotter and use it the same way as WinMTR.

The performance graph it shows at the bottom can sometimes highlight an issue that WinMTR doesn't, because it shows the time-correlation of problems. If you are willing, run that, screenshot with the graph, and post it. (From the time the problem happens, of course.)

You could skip directly to talking to GGG tech support by email. Since there isn't an obvious network problem leaping out there, they might have some insight. I'd definitely personally try the PingPlotter thing first though.
New league, same issues...

Extremely surprised GGG hasn't addressed this widespread issue yet.

Still no fix...really losing faith in GGG for sidestepping this and failing to even address it.

It is happening to a HUGE amount of players.

I'm stuck in Lab right now lag spiking and freezing.
