[3.1] The "Abyss-Cycloner" - Instant Leech! - up to 15 Abyssal Jewels! Atlas 100% complete!

Will update this guide tommorow with some more informations and bring it abit in shape :)
Excuse me, don't mean to be rude, but can someone please clarify who exactly is taking the credit for this build? Because I've been using BloodSeeker since 2.6, through 3.0, survived the insta-leech nerf into 3.1 and have a pretty prominent thread that already covers pretty much all the info here (besides the Abyss stuff) and much much more with 75 pages in the thread:

Lanlin how did you come up with this build? Is it your original idea? Just wanted to check because there is a much better version of this that has been in the forums for a long time and your tree is almost a mirror copy.
Anyway, technically it's within the realm of possibility that others converged on the same exact idea.

However, this thread has a lot of info that's just plain wrong and makes it pretty evident you don't fully understand the build. Let me share a few insights that wouldn't be easy for someone without intimate knowledge of the build to realize:

1) Divination Distillate: This doesn't work on a Full Life/Insta-Leech build. The flask effect is only active while it's healing you, which will be never..

2) Lion's Roar:
You need these if you want to use Lion's; else you're gonna be wasting a lot of time chasing knocked back mobs with your Cyclone. In case you've never tried them, these gloves make it so you suck things into you instead of push them away with Knockback. In 3.0 I added Knockback Support in the Cyclone 6L and it works wonders. Someone on my thread coined the term "Vacuum of Death". You can see several videos using them on my post.

3) Physical Reflect: Yes, you can absolutely do phys reflect with some patience and Soul of Yugul.

4) Whirling Blades without Blood Magic: You absolutely NEED Blood Magic for Whirling. If anything you drop Faster Attacks, which is barely noticeable, but without BM you're not going to be able to Whirl around non-stop; most importantly though, you won't be able to do no-regen maps. With a minuscule mana pool you need a skill that does damage without mana cost to be able to leech mana for your main skill (Cyclone). Technically you could disable some aura and pray you never run out of mana, but it's not necessary when you can just add BM and use Whirling forever.

5) Bridging across StrongArm and grabbing Versatility: Sure StrongArm is a nice node to grab, but this build is very DEX/INT starved. The reason you bridge higher, through Expertise and Ancestral Knowledge is to have access to those 30 int/dex nodes which you might need as you're gearing. Yes, Versatility will give you 20, but it's 2 points to get to it, and 2 points to drop when you get perfect gear stats, which is the final goal. Also, as you level, you want to be able to reach Resolute Technique as quickly as possible, and going through StrongArm takes much longer.

6) Only Cyclone: It's just silly to do all content with Cyclone when you can just swap Blade Flurry at T16+ bosses and be much safer and kill much quicker. If you look at my thread, I have a few videos of what Cyclone(Trash)/BladeFlurry(Boss) T16 looks like.

7) Blasphemy + Vulnerability: Ideally, what you want is more speed, that means more Frenzy Charges and Flask Charges, so you would use Poacher's Mark here and get a +1 curse amulet and +Vulnerability corruption on your gloves.

8) Essence Worm: Really not necessary just to run Herald. Get some GG Steel Rings instead.

9) Ancestral Warchief: AW without links is like a mosquito bite to bosses. If you're going to run a totem without links then for Cyclone what you want is more speed, so you use Ancestral Protector instead, because you can drop it, and once it activates you can go out of line of sight without losing the buff for a pretty respectable range.

10) Hatred optional?: You probably want to say Herald of Ash is optional. Hatred is by far much much better.

11) Blood Rage + CWDT: Yes, it works, but man is it annoying when you want to refresh your BR and you can't or when you forget about it and you run into a no-regen map with it and it almost kills you. Learn to cast it yourself, you'll be glad you did.

12) LightPoacher Helm: Yes, it's fun, I've given it a shot, and you can definitely fit it in, but I really haven't found it to be that amazing with Cyclone. It always seems to go off when most things are already dead, but then again keep in mind I use Empire's gloves and everything is sucked in and dies clustered rather than spread apart for lightpoacher to work properly. Devoto's or Starkonja's are better options.

13) Life Flask: You don't run life flasks with this build. You rely on life leech entirely.

14) Bleeding Flask:
You want to be able to keep moving and do as much DPS as possible. Getting Death's Doors lets you free up a flask slot to add a good utility there and it frees you from having to worry about bleeding with such a fast moving build. Plus if you run Uber Lab, which this build is pretty damned good at, then you'll love Death's on traps.

When I'm running Cyclone this is my regular flask setup:

I'm sure I could keep going, but I feel this is plenty.

I praise Lanlin for the variant using Abyss uniques. They definitely have something to bring to the mix, but as it stands this thread is just confusing people and not providing much valuable info besides those few Abyss items to offer.

I seriously doubt this isn't some derivative work based on my "Tazmanian Cyclone" variant guide, specially because the way I approach build making is completely unorthodox and through the entire creation process I had many many people question the validity and viability of the build, so it's not some common approach you would find in the current "meta" of the game, making it fairly easy to identify that this is a copy and not original work. Just Scourge + BloodSeeker combo alone is something so specific that NO ONE else had even considered Seeker up until now that it survived the insta-leech nerf.

Anyway, a few nodes different and a few temp league uniques don't equal a whole different build, but there's really not much I can do about it should Lanlin or JeyP51 choose to not credit me for my work:

Whats the point in using maim and the bleed support gems? Bleed dmg i thought is mediocre now. Also why use a maim jewel when you wear an item that maims automatically for 4 seconds. Surely there are better options, like faster attacks or ruthless. Ruthless + Chance to Bleed is going to be way better than Maim with chance to bleed, especially since ruthless also has stun potential every 3rd hit. Even the more multiplier on ruthless is like 4 times higher than with maim support. Really I just find it pointless to use a maim support gem at all. Finally does melee damage on full life even work consistently with this build. Even 1 missing hp means the gem doesnt do anything, and while you do have instant leech all you need is to get hit once to do reduced damage.

Also I would like to see some videos actually showing the build rather than going on the assumption that this is viable on a picture alone.

Ruthless doesn't support Cyclone

This "guide" is pretty much just plagiarizing my work and not crediting me as the actual creator of this build, hence it's lacking a lot of information. The only relevant info here is the use of Abyss items, which I admit, seems to be a nice variant of the build.

Please refer to the original guide for detailed info:

Scourge/BloodSeeker: Blade Flurry | Cyclone | Reave - Instaleech, All Content, HC, Budget

TLDR:

1) Ruthless doesn't support Cyclone anymore. Either Maim or Added Fire
2) Maim Support isn't just applying the Maim effect, it's also boosting Phys Dmg of supported gems and DMG on mobs affected by Maim. (Do you use Path of Building?)
3) Full life was reworked a long time ago to work even if your health globe isn't 100% full, as long as your incoming healing is more than the outgoing dmg. You're welcome to look for the GGG posts outlining these changes, or you can search my thread for the answer somewhere in there... It's been a while. Either way, yes it works, and it's been well tested.
4) I have tons of videos on my thread.
ah I don't use path of building. Pretty much do my build testing the hard way. Throw some stuff together and see if it works or not, and make changes as I go. I been playing only Cyclone builds for the last few years. So when ever I see something different I have to give it a try.

I commend you for building the hard way. I tried it too, but the problem is the complex mathematical interactions that need to worked out to figure out what might work well together. I suck at math...

Either way, PoB isn't a magic bullet, it can only give you a rough idea of the viability of a build and a way to be able to try gear before you buy it to see the potential benefits/downsides. Meaning that putting a good build together still relies heavily on testing in the field (like you do) to figure out what actually works, so maybe give it a shot sometime.
Any tips on what I should work on next?

Here's my gear and skills via Path of Building.
