Abyss spawn without trigger in some maps

In Residence, abyss monsters from the holes spawn automatically without walking over the trigger.
i think its due to the multiple level tile set, i cleared the entire map then walked over the trigger and the cracks took me to where the previous abyss monsters i killed spawned, opened a whole then nothing came out.
