Mines/Traps triggering Herald of Ice

Hi GGG,

In 2016, people posted about how mines/traps weren't triggering Herald of Ice. GGG responded that it was a known bug and it would be fixed. I haven't played since then, but am planning on coming back for this new league. I'm wondering, has this been fixed yet?

Do you happen to remember keywords that would help in googling this GGG response? All information I have ever heard is to the contrary (that this is not a known bug, but rather intended behaviour), and a quick site:pathofexile.com google didn't turn up anything meaningful.
