iron will and pillar of the caged god question

i looked around online doing several google searches and sifting through several forum threads, but i could never find a definitive answer, so hopefully someone here knows.

does the 16% increased physical attack damage from strength from "pillar of the caged god" unique staff, increase the amount of damage bonus supplied from the "iron will" support gem?

so instead of getting 2% spell damage for every 10 str would you instead get 18% increased spell damage?

Iron will takes your stat-derived melee bonus for spell damage, But PotCG melee damage is item-specific. I think there is no reason IW should count it for spells.

You can check it by tooltip spell supported by IW while pillar either equipped or not, there should be a big difference if it actually works.
