Most Republicans dont, even though they sort of want to solve the problem, but for bad reasons,which leads to poor solutions. Democrats want the nightmare to continue, to gain power through votes, and could care less about all the people still stuck in the nightmare, cause they aren't potential voters, until they try to escape. Plus all the people whose lives are destroyed by drugs are probable Democrat votes, so it is a double win for the Democrats to make central America as nightmarish as possible. Millions of americans live in mexico retired. Whats that tell you? It's like florida without the hurricanes. They also live in panama, costa rica, Nicaragua and so on. I dont believe in minimum wage let alone Sanders $15 an hour. (Thats command economy stuff aka communism) This Nation is based on freedom. Economic freedom includes freedom of labor. Funny how breitbart wingers forget that part. Businesses need low cost labor to compete globally. Not everyone can work for gov mafia and steal from people and charge whatever. Most people have to compete in a marketplace. That marketplace is very competitive and lower labor costs and regulations abroad.
And many businesses would collapse without immigrant workforce. Their products/services would cost too much if the employed snowflake Americans who think they should be paid $100 an hour with thier basket weaving degree which they paid $100K for in loans. Why do you think Chamber of Commerce is pushing open borders? It's already terrible for business with regs and labor costs are higher than they should be in a free market. BTW one of Mexicos big problems is lack of freedom. Cartels are the government. We actually train special forces who moonlight with Cartels. Los Zetas was actually started by a Mexican special forces battalion. We arm Cartels since whatever we give to Mexican government Cartels get.
The real problem is more power you give gov and more you let them do worse it gets for people. That goes everywhere because of regulatory capture. We need to return power to the people. They need arms. They need property rights. They need republicanism. Git R Dun!

Key word was "enough". They don't even have as much as US itself if you consider offshore drilling. They might have more but have not explored as much, true.
I got a news flash though. The day the US annexes Mexico is the day I say ta ta and leave your soon to be shithole country forever. Bad enough now in border states. Take a trip down here and find out what it really looks like to have open borders. Property taxes go up faster than a variable note due to need to build schools faster than population can handle. Auto insurance ditto due to fact that folks that actually carry this gov't mandated insurance are in the minority. 15 hour waits in emergency room (with insurance). A friend of my client nearly died last week due to having to wait for medical care. And yes, he has insurance. Not enough hospitals to accommodate all the people. Roads are stuffed and no money to build more or widen anymore. Now it takes two hours to travel 4 miles. Yeah, go ahead and open the borders. Can't wait to see how the folks in "middle America" which is already poor as dirt adapt! shithole goes to craphole goes to ... have to invent a word to use to describe what it will be like. Censored.
