One of the most insightful posts I've seen on this forum in a while.

As a side note, certain wealth items (Headhunter) are also incredibly fun to play with. It is unfortunate that the vast majority of the player base is locked out of that fun.

How exactly was it insightful? I disagree. There needs to be chase items in the game. I think the current problem is that there is none that is as fun as headhunter.

How about a unique that lets you dominate the souls of each map boss you kill for your next map you open and his skills randomly appear around you to damage monsters?

Can't agree more with you. I literally deleted all chancing bases except leather belts from my loot filter this league and 2000 chance orbs later still trying to chance the damned thing. Quite sure if next league doesn't bring more uniques into the meta with reduced drop rates it's going to be another headhunter grinding league again...

Shav's for example is the casualty of the ES overnerf same with skyforth as it was mainly used for ES builds.

Also crafting is something that could be improved, in leagues is quite hard to craft good items since you start fresh. Unless you are one of those monopoly mirror tier service users in standard that own the entire economy is unlikely that you can craft anything good. All my "decent crafts" this league was just chaos spamming in good bases with high ilevel.

the problem for an "overpowered unique design" currently is: there needs to be ingame obstacles which new features can help with.

Whats the point, someone is just going to make a div card for it and trivialize the acquisition methods for it.

Why not nerf drop rates globally by 20% and see if that has any effect on the economy.

Why not nerf drop rates globally by xx% and link divination cards that reward "chase" uniques to DIFFICULT enemies? And make Diviner's Boxes have some of those difficult enemies, tuned for the rarity of the divination cards, so those rarer will grant you mandatory difficult fights - and when I say "difficult" think about multi modded essence corrupted monsters...
