Some people find certain types of music soothing and relaxing to fall asleep to. Others find the same in white noise, like the sound of a fan, or ocean waves gently crashing on a beach. ASMR is the idea that other sounds or conceptual ideas "trigger" the relaxation areas of your brain - like the sound/idea of hair being brushed, the sound of pages being turned, quiet talking, or the whispering you mention. It has gone so far as to now include sounds that some find annoying like clicking, tapping, inane chatter etc. There have been some studies on it, but nothing anymore conclusive than anecdotal experience.

If it floats your boat - go for it. There seems to be an awful lot of it out there.

It make me nervous

I found that I like visual triggers and microphone scratching/brushing sounds, and maybe some more, it is relaxing.

And yes, even though I like those, talking/whispering annoys me.
