That's why many people think there was more than 1 shooter

23 guns? WTF? I understand barrels get hot so maybe 4-5 but 23? How did no one not notice this?

Because it was in his luggage of course. It's that thing you bring with you when you check into a hotel. :P

As for people saying you can't get new class 3 weapons...tell that to my friend with a fully legal, fully auto HK MP-5 with factory suppressor. There are always loopholes. ;)
Just a lowly standard player. May RNGesus be with you.

Wealthy dude, 64, mass murderer, yeah right!! I dont buy it. Old man who they knew had a lot of guns was probably kidnapped and shot dead in there while real killers (some .gov outfit) are on the loose.

Motive is easy. See all Democrats with their gun ban bills ready to go.
I don't think that's a realistic conspiracy theory.

A more realistic one from 9/10/2017, three weeks before the shooting, can be found here. Originally posted to 4chan's /pol/ board, Anonymous "john" warns of a dangerous incident in Las Vegas scheduled for 9/11 — however, "i can't guarantee anything will happen tomorrow but las vegas is on their minds" — that will cause metal detectors to become mandatory in Nevada casinos initially and virtually everywhere throughout the US eventually, thus making the manufacturers of said metal detectors insanely rich, especially after a planned 2020 merger. He specifically calls out OSI Systems, the Chertoff Group, and Sheldon Adelson of the Sands casinos.

There's also a woman interviewed by local media who claims a separate, unidentified woman warned everyone about 45 minutes before shooting began that they were "all going to fucking die;" she was then ejected by event security.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

I'm all in for strict gun control laws but I don't think it's the solution for this case. The type of guns he used are banned in the US since 1986.

Banned isn't quite the right word. They were (and still are) purchasable with the proper license.

Have any more details come out?

Do we know if the gun(s) he owned were legally obtained and not modified?
Do we know how many guns and boxes of ammo he toted up to that hotel room?
Do we have any kind of motive whatsoever?

Nothing on motives that I have seen yet, just a lot of money being transferred around, and today the AP was reporting he worked for ~10 years for the US Postal Service and IRS. They haven't publicly commented on a possible note that he left either.

No detailed accounting of the guns yet, seems like they need to issue an official total, as they seem to vary a lot. There was possibly a belt fed full automatic with a tripod, but I didn't see that confirmed. One of the AR-15 types had a modified stock with a plate through it that is only sold in California.

No totals on ammo used or available. Judging from some of the unreleased photos, he had at least 20 cartridges stacked at each window, plus whatever was preloaded. (You can see one stack near the purple column in the center image)

a piece of paper isn't automatically a note

Btw in all the video coverage I can only hear one person shooting. The opposite would be easy to prove just from the sound.

And Democrats who want stricter laws so the number of casualties goes down are very likely responsible for a mass shooting /irony.

It's not illegal to own fully automatic conversion parts. Because those are just parts. It becomes illegal when you install the parts into a working firearm. For the same reason rolling papers are still legal, even though everyone uses them to roll marijuana.

Mind you, they're still legal because not everyone uses them to roll a joint, even though it's the most common use it isn't the original purpose of rolling paper. What are you going to use automatic conversion parts for, other than convert a semi auto to full auto?

That's the way bladed weapons are restricted in some parts of EU, you can freely carry a large folding knife but you can't have even the smallest switchblade or a fixed blade dagger. You can use the latter to peel an apple and you can easily slit a throat with a folding knife or crack a skull open with a spade but it's the original purpose that counts, a folding knife is a tool and a switchblade is a weapon.

I suppose it's plausible, anyone checked if it was possible to buy any stocks of those manufacturers for a year back?

A high roller on an extended stay in a hotel suite with lots of luggage. That isn't unusual or sinister in the slightest.
