The Shaper quest bug

One of the last stages of "The Shaper" quest is impossible to complete, it's only possible to skip. Bug exists since Atlas introduction in 2.4.

Text reads "Find and defeat the Shaper's four Guardians". Doing so doesn't finish quest stage " You have discovered all seven of the Shaper's memory fragments. You must now find and defeat his four Guardians somewhere in Maps." and doesn't unlock next stages "You have defeated all four of the Shaper's Guardians. Talk to Zana in your Hideout or the Templar Laboratory for more information." and "You have defeated all four of the Shaper's Guardians. Travel to the centre of the Atlas to find and defeat the Shaper.". The only way to progress in that quest is to skip stages directly to "You have found the Shaper in the Crucible. Kill him once and for all.", but doing so you skip Zana dialogue about Shaper that seems impossible to get ever since atlas introduction.

Last one is the most important one: it should probably be "You have defeated all four of the Shaper's Guardians. Talk to Zana in your Hideout or the Templar Laboratory for more information." which is the next stage, after defeating guardians, but this stage never activates, the only way to progress quest is to start fight with Shaper, which skips all prior stages.

I can't believe it, but you managed to recreate EXACTLY the same bug in new Zana questline. It's again IMPOSSIBLE to complete stage "Defeat Shaper's Guardians", you can only skip it by going directly into Shaper fight.



I'm not even gonna bother creating new thread, because it's exactly the same bug, except new quest.

Quest: Sanity's Requiem.
Stage 1: Defeat the Shaper's four Guardians to access the Shaper's Realm in the centre of the Atlas and restore his memories.

This stage is impossible to complete, it doesn't progress no matter how many times and how you kill guardians.

Stage 2: You have defeated the Shaper's Guardians. Now talk to Zana about the Shaper.
Stage 3: You have defeated the Shaper's Guardians. Enter the Shaper's Realm in the centre of the Atlas and restore his memories.

Above stages never happen. It's impossible to progress quest to these stages. You may only skip to stage 4, by entering Shaper's arena to fight him.

Stage 4: You have defeated the Shaper's Guardians. Now defeat the Shaper and restore his memories.

Edit: It also seems that due to skipping stages 2/3 Zana is always stuck with dialogue "The Shaper's Guardians", which is already irrelevant after you defeated guardians/shaper/uber elder.
