You had 1 job!

Hmm playing doctor with that box of tools isn't too far off for a young boy in my opinion... I remember when I was a young lad I played doctor with some leafcutter ants with whatever tools that were on hand at the moment...
cost vs costed

TLDR: when you're talking about expenses, it's "cost" in all tenses. When you're talking about estimating the value of something, the past participle is "costed".

Google is great for stuff like that.

Thx for the laugh, good post, upboat.

You will never, ever...ever find a way to coerce me to use the word 'costed'. Ever.

Okay, maybe if you threatened to make me eat hot coals. Or killed my dog. If I had a dog. But if I had a dog I'd be a dog person, not a cat person. And cat people are obstinate as fuck. And my obstinacy manifests in lexicon. COSTED. PFFFT.

If I ever hear that, I'll just assume it's an Irishman trying to say this:

Thats pudding.
Seems more New York/Boston than Irish :D

Nay, 'tis costed!

I'd also never use "costed". I felt I had to fact check though, and it turned out there was a legitimate usage. In a different context, of course. In that context which makes "costed" technically valid, I'd just say, "evaluated", "assessed", "estimated", "calculated", something like that.

Although someone said in the discussion that "costed" is similar, but not equivalent to these words.

I'm skeptical about "costed". I've had to translate a bunch of accounting documents over the years and I don't think I've seen it used even once.
