[3.0]Assassin Second Stage 3M+ POISON DPS Viper Strike theory
" Well, I have leveled a Viper Striker in the past, and once I had Multistrike at level 38 it was actually ok. But yea, not the best leveling experience even then. I thought about using the new Decay support gem for leveling starting at 38. It should be pretty OP with this tree. Just need to figure out what skill to use to apply the decay. Biggest problem is how to level to 38 with this tree? Bladefall starts at 28, so no option for the start. Maybe plain old Sunder? We do get a bunch of physical damage in the beginning of the tree, might be enough to level to 38 without poison at all. EDIT: Other thing I noticed, your tree has no leech (except the 0.4% from Blood Drinker). That made me wonder why take VP at all. So I tried to change some things around. Not saying this is better, we would end up with only 156% life from tree, which would make this maybe softcore only. On the other hand, with the higher life rolls on items in 3.0 plus using Belly it should work out fine. Also we gain more total poison duration (only really useful against the top-end bosses) and much more leech. And 5% more poison DPS. Did no finetuning or anything on this, just whipped it up quickly because the leech was not enough imho. Even if you count in Atziris Promise. " the leveling on Viper Strike is ok,i am using it at the start,fire trap to lv8,and get melee splash,and at lv38 i got multistrike,yes,it's ok,you can leveling with that,but actually very slow compare to other skill, Sunder maybe a better option before 28. yeah,i have try to go duelist part,but man that's so many life note i need to sacrifice....in 3.0 with nice gear i think i could hit 6K life on my tree. and for the leech,we also have blood rage,but of course the leech is not great enough,but this is a second stage build,our hit dmg is not good enough,in Path of building the Leech Per/S is 16XX and 6.X hit /s , that's mean something like 26X per hit per monster,and because we just have 1% regen from the tree,Vaal Pact would absolutely better than that. and with the flask note on tree and belly,the life flask have a very huge recovery speed,as you can see on here↓  SO,I think finally the combination of 6K life, high eva chance & dodge chance & some block chance,fast recovery life flask,and some not bad leech from vaal pact would be working really nice. tbh for aoe trash clearing you could just run a Spec throw+gmp+poison+decay setup with all the nodes you have it should be good enough to trash clear even t15's and then allow VS to be pure single target on the bosses.
that would also mean you could swap out splash for another good support making it higher. i just did a quick test in PoB with your build and the 4l Spec Throw+GMP+Decay+Lesser poison gives overall a degen of 30k a second between the decay+each poison(57k total dps for poison if you need to stack) this could easily be put in gloves with the essence mod 30% more dot damage making it even better(may be needed for t15's) Last edited by shadowraiden on Jun 17, 2017, 1:28:47 PM

You can always just stick Molten Strike somewhere and kill stuff. Getting to level 38 is pretty trivial. Worst case scenario you dump Ancestral Protector and let it kill stuff. Viper Strike + Melee Splash also works.

Yo, iv been playing Viper Strike build on beta so far and I really enjoy it, once you hit 65 and get bino's this build gets so easy and fun to play, clearing packs ok-ish, and single target is insane.

Take a look at it and tell me what you think, I have swapped Abyssus for Rat's Nest for survivability and why not, swapping Belly of the Beast for Cherrubim's Malefice for extra dps with 200~ Hp loss, and I am using one Ming's Heart Ring for extra chaos resist and dps. | |

Hi just doing something similiar but in another way. And before opening a new post lets just theorize here i thought :)
The basics is the same but im going Hybrid with "The Covenant" since the added chaos from it scales extremly well with Viper Strike. Atm the Builder shows me around 7.3 mil dps without melee splash. This is planned to be run with Binos as well and I think that the spreaded poison will be more then enough to kill packs easy and fast w/o splash, but have to check it out when im leveled and have the Bino's :) I have 2 blue slots in it because getting covenant 5 off-colours is to hard b4 release but just for fun replace Efficacy with Vile Tosxins and we are above 8 mil dps! Im still leveling and dont know if I get him high enough b4 wipe, but I will give an update as soon as I reach high-level and can check if it works. ------ *edit Just remembered that growing Agony gives us Unholy Might already :) So changed Shield to Lycosidae as well, and just a few fixes on tree and rings as well, cause no accuracy needed anymore.
