New Ascension SubClasses for EXISTING classes

Long story short
Spoiler
Add a 4th ascension class for every existing class adding more depth to the existing game without having to rework anything really. That way you are indirectly buffing the Ascendant Class cause you would give it more opportunity for new synergy.

Short story long
Spoiler

Duelist
Spoiler
Brawler
- revolves around bonuses to unarmed combat and claws. Also a important part of the ascendancy class would be bonuses while not wearing body armor should you chose to do so. The penalty of losing a 6 socket should you go full apeshit would be buffed trough the ascendancy nodes.

Marauder
Spoiler
Arcane Trapsmith
-revolves around bonuses to traps(not mines), bonuses to spells and using all the smithing skills to your advantage in melee combat.

Ranger
Spoiler
Spellsword
-revolves around using the castable spells to imbue your weapon for additional flat/% bonus damage of the respective element. Has the ability to reserve whole mana to create a bonus layer of defense until depleted or bonus offense coating your weapon in arcane energy.

Witch
Spoiler
Blood Magus
- revolves around bonuses to life, casting spells at the cost of life (not bloodmagic so mana is still available), less reservation on mana and faster and stronger life leech on spells. Also stronger spells at the additional cost of life.

Templar
Spoiler
Thaumaturgist
- revolves around summoning, minion bonuses and bonuses to degen, taking all that is divine deforming it into an abomination of all that is holy. "A man of faith would go to great extent so fight for his God and win, no matter the cost."

Shadow
Spoiler
Planeshifter
- the ascendancy class revolves around jumping in and out of different aspects of the elements itself. For instance jump into the fire plane thus granting you abilities of the element of fire but making you weaker to cold in some way. ..fire>lightning>cold>fire....

Scion
Spoiler
Nothing here realy escept grating you another node to each main class to choose from giving you more posibilities. Now who wouldn't want to be a Planeshifter/Brawler AMIRITE??

or they could just expand on the existing ones by giving them more branches.

things like:

marauder geting a few extra nodes behind forest strength to suport an iron will branch

ocultist geting an infused weapons branch, stuff like "% of unreserved mana is added as chaos damage to attacks"

inquisitor with a blood magic / low life branch that will empower him based on life reserved or recently lost. for instance 1% increased effects of buffs on you every 250 life reserved.

Adding on this, A Marauder Ascencion built around resolute technique and blood magic: Basically a "big/dumb but strong" type archetype ascension. (Buffs for non-crits, Increases HP, allows for 1 free aura without reservation).

a Summoner type Speciality (non-totem summoner) for Templar
Well...

Saboteur, Juggernaut, Deadeye and Hierophant would probably like current classes to be balanced better before adding in new ones.

However, that said, more options are good options. Would be cool to see more classes, especially if they open up new interesting builds (Rather than just being used for X existing build, but better)
Whoa!! nice feedback here. Yeah read it all and I like the ideas you guys wrote down. Generally adding any of those would bring so much for the depth of the game kicking the game out of the limbo we can pathfinder, ES. While ES has been dealt with and pathfinder indirectly (but they never addressed Legacy Vessel of Vinktar so that could still be a thing.. Either way if not that people will just go for instant leech on life builds trying to revive the clear speed face tank everything meta. So everyone will end up going for the same again.

Adding depth like this would definitely add new excitement to the game and people wouldn't really know what to go for from the start of the league since they would be hyped around the new class changes and the game would be promoted so hard at that point, especially the first week since players would be sitting on youtube mashing f5 for new videos explaining new god builds or exploits an stuff like that.
How about a similar node for marauders in ascendancy as there are Elemental Overload?
"40% more physical attack damage for 8 seconds when you deal a critical strike. No critical multiplier."

Could be fun alternative to RT.

+1 to jugg needing a buff. Hell, I'd be happy if they just swapped the +armor for +HP on its minor nodes.

Not bad ideas. Better than I was expecting.

Bloody nightmare to balance though.

You know now that you mention it...
Now that we know GGG was working on the XBOX stuff well over a year before they announced it to us i have to wonder..
How long did they work on the Ascendancy's before they announced and ultimately released those?

Id like to think they didnt just throw them together in like a month. I figure they worked on those for quite some time. Possibly 6-8 months or so. They are pretty well thought out for the most part. Some of course outshine others but they all seem to follow a basic theme and each one for each class has its special thing.
There is a fine line between Consideration and Hesitation.
The former is Wisdom, the latter is Fear.

Thinking about this, I really do think the ascensions could use a few more branches in them for more freedom though. I honestly hope this is one thing they add in in 3.0, is more branches.
Even more important character development gated behind the frogger mini-game? Why not? Bring it on!
