+3 and essence crafting possible?

hey so I'm planning to make a minion staff for my necromancer. So i was looking at Femurs of the gods but didn't like it that much sens i'll be using 3 specters which will give my zombies 33% dmg while a Deafening essence of fear give's 40-45% minion dmg. And while it does have +2 to minion gems i could have +3 to socketed fire gems and have srs on it which would be better, so why not craft one?
What i was think of doing was: 1.Craft it into a single mod magic staff with the prefix (+2 to socketed fire gems). 2.Craft Catarina's Cannot roll Attack Mods meta-crafting mod. 4.Use a Regal Orb for the Paragon's prefix (+1 to socketed Gems). 5.Remove Catarina's meta-crafting mod. 6. craft prefixes cannot be changed (to not remove the +3) 7. use the Deafening essence of fear and get the pref staff So my question is if this is at all possible or if i would have to exalt it first then use step 7 or if there's another way and how many exalts that would cost etc etc. Last edited by nicolitomf#0424 on Apr 7, 2017, 1:29:06 PM Last bumped on Apr 8, 2017, 8:35:21 PM

Essences ignore all masters' meta crafting mods. Using an essence will reroll the item from scratch.

The first 4-5 steps are still good, than you can multimod or slam it for something nice.
Keep in mind that SRS is the only minion skill with fire gem tag. |
