Goredrill and bloodlust support

I've been trying to figure out a way to even get bloodlust support gem to even work. Only way I know for sure is to use punture to get them to bleed then use the skill that has bloodlust attached to it but that just slows down your clear time making the gem worthless.

Now I see goredrill says causes bleeding when you critically strike. However bloodlust still says the skill can not cause bleeding, which one wins in this fight? Also Does goredrill itself need to be the one to make the attack or can I say use groundslam with a good main hand mace and just keep goredrill in the off hand to sit and look pretty.

If all else fails how the are you supposed to use bloodlust.

If you want to use Bloodlust, you should only need it against Rares and Uniques. Sure, it won't do jack against trash, but it's called trash for a reason. It's also quite usable if you Bleed, and link it to a Warchief or Protector for single-target DPS.

Goredrill should work as a stat stick, to my knowledge.

I mean, theoretically, you could try using Jack, the Axe/Rigwald's Savagery/Rive and then opening up an engagement with a non-Bloodlust skill and then use your Bloodlust skill afterwards.

Or, what Vipermagi mentions.

Sacrifice 1 socket for trash clearing to fit in Bloodlust on your main ability (Which shouldn't really be that big of a deal, especially if you have a 6L) and then just save Puncture for dealing with the hardier single targets to maintain the bleed and get the bonuses.
I run a 98% chance to bleed gladiator with Harmophelia and 78/78 blocking. The trigger block gems apply bleed pretty automatically so that I can keep bloodlust on viperstrike.

You could also run the master implicit weapon (tora).
