[2.6] The Hyperbomber (Zero currency miner. SSF, HC/SC) Video up!



Abstract: Fire nova miner, using shadow and later speccing into trickster. Very smooth and fast levelling.

What is this for? Speedrunning, leaguestarter, SSF, HC/SC. Literally no currency needed. Highly ethical.
*Decent deeps, levels fast.
*High survivability after grabbing MoM, acrobatics and doing merciless labyrinth.
*Easy to scale for end game.
*Cheap as fuck (just need a 4-link, and can easily level with a 3 link blue wand)
*Can play as life or later spec into ES (not recommended SSF), if one desires.

What is this not for? Probably not the highest dps or clear speed build. Go poison and another ascendancy if you want that.

How to level/play: Level with fire trap and freezing pulse linked with added lightning. Use frost bomb versus Merveil. While levelling search shop for cheap 3 linked all blue slot wand and one with 2 blue, 1 green. At level 12 you can use fire nova mine. Link it with added lightning and minefield.

Keep using this until you get trap and mine damage. Try to get a 4 link with 3B, 1G. Remember to check the vendor from time to time.

3 link: Fire nova, trap dmg, minefield
4 link: Fire nova, trap dmg, minefield, controlled dest
5 link: Fire nova, trap dmg, minefield, controlled dest, fire penetration
6 link: Fire nova, trap dmg, minefield, controlled dest, fire penetration, inc aoe/conc effect

If possible, try finding scepters with ele dmg, to benefit from the sweet double dipping. In act 1 it's easiest to run with wands however. Additional gems to run is herald of lightning, arctic armour, flammability (self cast for bosses) and flame dash. Later in the game you should turn off herald of lightning because of mana issue, your damage will still be ok.

Why not use conc effect/elemental focus instead of controlled destruction? I want to benefit from the burns, and I want to keep the AoE of fire nova. For some bosses it is worth it to switch from controlled destruction to concentrated effect.

Regarding fire penetration: It's better than controlled destruction, but from a fast levelling/speedrunning perspective it's better to use what is given from quest rewards. You can get it from Siosa, but that means doing 'A Fixture of Fate'. Should you get your hands on it, by all means use it.

Bandit Choices: oak (if going life), point, point.

Ascendancy: First go Ghost Dance and Weave the Arcane, then Shade Form. Last one depends on your preference. I favor Swift Killer for the clear speed boost.

Just before Malachai fight. Same gem setup. I turned off Herald of Lightning, and grabbed all the quest passive points. I allocated phase acrobatics first and then moved towards witch area.

Level 62
Killed Voll in merciless, build satisfies minimum requirements (MoM and acrobatics). Will probably level to 70, and grab 2 ascendancies before i enter maps.

After the previous update i beelined to MoM, and it was worth it. Not alot of life nodes in Shadow/Witch area

let's say it's so ethical is gets unethical.

Update: Lvl 41 and going strong. Getting resists sure sucks. I'm avoiding getting a hideout because i want to simulate a speedrunning experience, to see how viable this is in real word. I might start to pick up quest passive points, as i've been ignoring them in normal and start of cruel.

Posted a video. Character is currently lvl 74 and feels more or less complete, the only thing needed is grabbing more damage nodes, and the alchemist passives.

I would say the build has succeded, and is a good starter build. I haven't gotten into yellow maps yet, but I don't think doing these will pose a problem.

Thank you! Defensive reasons. Since this is a league starter that needs to be HC viable, we need to go life. And life is squishy, so we need every defensive boost we can get.

I'm going to farm a 5L staff from the cards. I've done Fire Nova before, and it's great for damage, but it really needs MoM as well as a lot of mana regen because of the play style. You pretty much run head-first into packs, put down mines then detonate them. The mines are mana-costly as well.

I'm leveling without Minefield, though. I find Fire Penetration and Trap&Mine Damage + FNM to be a better setup as a 3L. It makes it so I don't have to pick up additional mines on the tree until the endgame when I have the 5L.

Also, worth noting, that last time I played, I got an Alpha's Howl + the Sovereignty cluster, which allowed me to run AA, Anger, high level Clarity + Enfeeble on Blasphemy. I'm gonna run Enfeeble this time too providing I have the links for it.

EDIT, I looked at your tree. I just want you to know that I think Mine Detonation Radius (behind Clever Construction) does absolutely nothing for FNM. Thats 2 points you can use elsewhere. Also, unless you need the resists, taking Fire Walker instead of 1 int point seems like a stretch to me. Not going that route myself unless I have to for the 15% res.

Thank you for the input! You don't actually get hit very much thanks to dodge and eva, and potentially you could also run lightning coil/belly of the beast. I do agree that MoM is needed.

Minefield is nice since it gives better AOE and huge dps boost, also you are given it early on. For fire pen u need to do Siosa in act 3.

It is true that the AOE-nodes seems kinda crap, consider them optional.

Fire Walker can be substituted for jewel slots, in a SSF environment it might be hard to get good jewels early on.

Gear update, currently level 70 and considering low level maps to start farming The Flora's Gift for my +2 staff.

Still using FNM, Fire Pen and Mine Damage.
