Died with no reason?!

I was happily entering Fetid Pool, just wandering the map and do my Shield Charge skill.. The story began when my screen stuck and server got disconnected. I thought it was a normal DC, but in return.. once I logged in (just few second, no error in login or so on),and SURPRISE MOTHER FUCKER! My character turned into Standard League. I go through forum and some of them face the same issue. This is quite annoying and it is clearly not our fault. We farmed hard and supporting PoE, buy cash and MTX but in return? Nothing can be done?? I don't believe this. There must be a way to fix this. Come on all GM, do your work. Check our account and restore our Character. This is not how fun game supposed to be. CAN MY CHARACTER BE RESTORE?? PLEASE..!

GGG's servers know if you've disconnected, but they've no way of differentiating between genuine disconnections and "oops I'm about to die, better pull out the Ethernet cable" disconnections - and they also won't necessarily know exactly when your connection dropped.

Now, nobody is accusing you of trying to game the system. But some people definitely would, and when that happens Hardcore quickly loses its value. I'd liken it to Diablo III on console, where if you die you can just go back to a previous save on your USB.

If they can't help everyone who dies unfairly without creating a system which would be subjected to rampant abuse, all they can do is treat everyone equally. When you die, you die.

Thank you for your kind words. But I am 100% sure it is not from my back end error. I died few times and it is OK for me. My mistake and I would play new character then... but brah. This issue, makes me really uncomfortable and it playing in my head since the second i logged into my account. GGG can roll back and do something bout this?

GGG Treats everyone the same in issues like this. No roll backs no matter what the case/issue. It sucks that it happened, but it does happen to us all. I've already lost 4 characters lvl 70+ this league.

They can not restore your character due to how the data is stored, because it is stored as a large file for the whole server with no way to individually pick a character, they would need to roll back everyone hour or days just to satisfy one person...not going to happen.

3. your support dose NOT grant you any special privilege you are a pleb just like everyone else and the rules are applied evenly regardless of money spent.

Believe what you will, but since at least jan 2013 when they game went to open beta and "the masses" started playing that is what the devs/support have said about the database, that's why they don't do it, thats why the only one in the history of the game was allowed, because it was caught within the hour at a time virtually no one was playing...if that particular bug existed hours or days then you there would never have been a roll back.

I understand the circumstances and about the big data you talking about. In that case, i think it should be better if they have a specialist or Information Management and manage the data. Despite of having their own issue, they need a solution to this. Everything have a solution or fix, at least that is i believed.

That "big data" excuse is BS. If it was true then their own server wouldn't be able to update that same data but by some miracle they do it.
