Hardcore & Internet

I was watching last night a live stream (a guy has to get his fix, right?) of someone playing hardcore.
After 2 hours, my internet just died on me, and I went to bed.
I wonder if I was playing, instead of just watching someone else.. would I have been dead now?
Are there measures to disconect hardcores FAST in case of internet meltdown?
Not everyone has a reliable provider (I have most of the time, and sometimes... stuff just happen).
Are there measures taken to prevent our beloved lvl 50 char from getting killed?

Well, that's on DUMB answer, isn't it?
At the moment I think it's a 5-second stall time will disconnect you. But for me connection is still a pretty significant issue so I don't plan to have a good shot at HC just yet.

Well, YOU don't care, but it's still a pertinent concern about playing HardCore.

I hope you/we get an answer so things would be clear.

I might give it a shot and I get pretty random disconnection myself so... I would not appreciate dying this way :D
Hack&Slash lover!
This reminds me old days of classic diablo2 hardcore on bnet lol. You were whilwinding into cow herd on hell hc and suddenly you get d/c, minute later you knew if your barb survived or you had another high lvl ghost on your account;P
I'm playing Hardcore Diablo 2 now, and what almost kills me all the time is the damn CD rom lag.

Thats why you don't play it with a CD =)

Yeah the latest patches don't require CD so just full install?
Well, if there is any problem with hardcore at launch, it will surely get fixed. I bet the devs have learned more than 1 thing from Diablo 2
