Lag spikes most of the day (Australia)

Update: I've been informed that this is indeed a legitimate issue according to the GGG network guys and they're dealing with softlayer ('submitted a ticket').

I sort of wish GGG would make a post about this but: a) it's fairly late at night in NZ and; b) I figure the network guys are too busy getting it fixed to post about it, hopefully.

Anyway, there you go.

Hope it's taken care of soon. It's truly out of our hands.

This is good news that there is an issue and that someone is working on it. Thanks for all your efforts here!

Too all the people saying its iinet, this post sort of says its not. I mean I am not tech guru, but its only PoE this issue is effecting. The only common issue is PoE and iinet. However, iinet is having no issues with ANY other game or website but yet still PoE unplayable.

I get it could still be iinet having an impact and other issues causing more issues making the issue worse, but its a bit odd that its only on PoE. Logically would seem like an issue with the way PoE interacts with our common iSP rather than the ISP just being bad.

It isn't only PoE. Anything hosted by IBM in Melbourne is getting the same packet loss. Here is a report of the packet loss directly to IBM's speedtest server (which has nothing to do with PoE except being in the same data centre.) It is also worth noting I am now getting packet loss inside the iiNet network as well now.

EDIT: Forgot to mentioned I have also tested via 2 other network connections from my house. So same computer, same location, 3 ISPs. Only iiNet is having the issue.

Nearly everyone in this thread is with iinet or internode.

plus internode have confirmed they are being hit by - http://advisories.internode.on.net/item/15835/

yes it seems to be affecting POE the hardest, however packet loss tests are showing 5-10% loss also

From Internode-

UPDATE: 16/03/2017 21:30 ACDT:

Our network partner has dispatched a technician.
Same issues, Internode also, saw it has been noted and looked into but figured another MTR wouldn't hurt so http://pastebin.com/BS4XpvNr
Appears the issue has been fixed. Happy mapping people!

It has periods in the late PM's early Am's where is works, probably just a small window of no issue, not fixed lol!
Had the same thing last night, came good late. Could be a bandwidth issue.
As per usual, no packet loss from midnight till 8am. It's back lagging now, winmtr showing the same packetloss as mentioned throughout this thread.

www.iinet.net.au/status/5198031

what ever they claimed to fix, wasn't our issue.

Correct, back lagging now. Internode customer, they also advise they fixed an issue but doesn't seem to be this issue of terrible lag spikes during the day and night.

Only settles down very late at night, very early in the morning.
