[R.I.P.] life Mjolner done right by Rico - Juggernaut version - R.I.P. thx to "balancing" policy

I think you should be fine with 5.8 - 6k life. I respect your choice of being more tanky than more dps. That said I will soon add more info regarding how "the (blair)Witch project" is going :P

I don't know if the question was already asked. I m kind of affraid to rereead 148 forum pages.

Is it worth it to drop the 1% Max fire res to proc wise oak on lighting+fire or is it better to hold on this +1max fire to sustain rf better ?

+1 fire is better not only for RF. And you can still balance the resistance for Wise Oak. It doesnt care how much max you have. It only cares how much uncapped (or overcapped) you have. In other words - if the numbers on fire and light in brackets are same while cold in bracket is lower than you are fine.

Thx.

Now back to that Witch/Elementalist idea "once again" (c) Mathil...

I think its ready to share. I still need to do some minor tweaks here and there but its more/less ready to go.

Here are some end-game vids:

Witch/Elementalist Mjolner vs Elder himself (with a Friend*):

*Friend was a low life Guardian RF/Scorching Ray with max block Aegis Aurora build. This is currently one of the most tanky build in the game. He had 9.3k ES. You can observe what kind of dmg income we where dealing with by looking at his ES bar drops ;)

Now what I think.

Witch/Elementalist Mjolner is a very good build overall. It prooved to be solid vs end-game content.
I tailored it a bit to my liking and tweaked so it could sustain RF permanently without the need of a ruby flask.

However it can be perfectly run without RF. Wthout RF thou it requires a good lvl of gear to be somewhat "okish" in DPS department.

Perma RF version solves the DPS issues completely and it is best DPS Mjolner out there.
More than that perma RF version is very solid in terms of life sustain and overall survivability vs end-game.

However even thou there are bosses I recommend to not use RF against, this includes: T16 Phoenix, Elder, T16 Minotaur, Shaper, Uber Elder, Uber Trio, Uber Izaro (or uber Lab in general because of traps degen).
Using RF must be also skipped on maps with half regen, no regen, -max, vulnerability mods.
Outside of that its fine to use it all the time.

To use RF safe permanently there are some gear requirements to meet.
First of all +1 to gems repentence gloves are mandatory. Than at least 2x lvl 3 Empower. One for golems, one for auras (see my gear and gems below). Than Primordial Eminence jewel for extra buff effect from golems(https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Primordial_Eminence) and fully completed golem part of Elementalist Ascendancy (Elemancer). Lastly lvl 21 Purity of Fire (for +5% base max) and lvl 20-21 Stone Golem. Without this kind of requirements RF cannot be run safely. That said, build works perfectly fine without it but lacks DPS vs those big boys.

No RF version I would recommend to anyone as it is tanky, has "decent" punch in terms of DPS and it is very, very safe. RF version I would recommend for more advanced players that want more focus on farming end-game bosses, but at the same time they know what they're doing.
RF version needs an experienced player, with good flask management and someone who doesnt "panic" in difficult situations. Speaking of flasks, setup I recommend for perma RF version:

+ Promise
+ Oak
+ Life flask with remove bleeding
+ Ruby flask with curse immunity

All those flask have their purpose. Promise is used vs chaos degen and chaos based bosses for extra sustain but also vs anything for extra sustain and DPS.

Oak is used vs big boys for extra DPS and especially used vs cold based bosses like T16 Hydra, Shaper, Elder.

Ruby flask is used when the Promise and Oak are down because when poped up life regen while under RF jumps from like +70 to like +400 for extra sustain.

Life flask is used last, when everything else is down and we still need some extra sustain.

This way, without panic button like "oh shit life dropped press all flasks", but rather with proper flask management as described above, build is very solid even vs hardest content while under RF.

Pantheon.

Because while under RF we have about +70 life regen - we need additional protection vs degens. I highly recommend capturing soul of the T13 Desert Spring boss for poison immunity and additional chaos damage taken reduction (Soul of Shakari).
At the same time I highly recommend capturing soul of the T15 Sunken City boss for extra protection vs all kind of damage over time and additional chaos dmg reduction (Soul of Araakali). Without those two, maps that contains Zobies which spawns chaos clouds after death can be dangerous especially with dmg mods.

Ok I think thats it. I can recommend Witch/Elementalist Mjolner as a solid eng-gamer build.

Now how I feel about Witch vs Jugg:

Spoiler

So Witch overall as combination of RF and non RF buid is a bit better. But its nothing like a day and night difference. Jugg is completely fine as well.

A bit wierd question, but u guys liking this build, which other builds did u like as well im thinking of lvling some second character but i cant decide what to do.
I've decided to keep my witch for golems and keep my jugg for this build. I liquidated another characters and got currency to dump into this one. I picked up volls and inya's, but that only leaves 1 ring and a belt to get the remaining resists and int on and my enlighten isnt high enoug hlevel to use all 3 purites. I guess that needs to be my priority, but im unsure is level 2 is enough or if I'll need level 3

what sucks is my boots prior to Inya had all my cold res on it apparently, so with POf and POL I have 83%(105%) and 79% to those. but my cold is 0%. so now I have to try and drop that extra fire in place of cold but again I need to do that while also not having enlighten high enough to use all 3 auras. I'm left with 2ex and like 170c to get this done

I had a similar issue with the resistance problems. However, I found a few solutions though in all honesty, this is my personal preference for running the build on the cheaper side.

I opted to drop purity of ice in place of purity of elements as to better round out my resistance. Personally, i feel that the purity are most important for mitigating reflect dmg and sustaining rf. As such, I've dropped purity of cold in place of purity of elements to better round off my resistances. Furthermore, ive tweaked the passive tree to include the resistance cluster near the marauder side to help round off my resistances. Because of this, i can afford to have a %cdr belt in place of an expensive resistance + %cdr belt. Using a mainly cold res ring to cap my resistances as well as a 13% cold res jewel (Sorry I don't know how to link jewels).

POB https://pastebin.com/WV0QFC0C

TLDR:

Purity of Ice ----> Purity of Elements (Not reflecting cold dmg = not necessary)
Tweaked Tree to include res cluster near marauder (+2 points)
Less combined resistances needed = cheaper rings (easier to buy 1 hyper cold res than 3 good res rolls)
Less res required = cheaper %CDR belt with attributes/life
Enlighten lvl 2 is good but need blood magic on movement and no off-hand arcane surge swap till enlighten 3
Attributes wise, your better off than me since your Voll's rolled attributes (I need to use +str, int jewels)

P.s Corrupt your ring to remove the crit chance you loss charges on crit which could be used to discharge. I find that the base crit is enough to sustain ele overload as is.

Not sure because i've not done the math myself but don't we need 16%+ CDR on Belt?
