[2.6] The Devourer of Souls - A Soulthirst Build

As the Azurite Mines open, new powers are released... The ravenous hunger, reawakened... The Devourer of Souls will RETURN!!! Well, would you look at this! It has been 1 and a half years since i last touched this Build. With the Delve challange league and therefore with the new options available to us, im reworking this Build in a new thread.  Did you ever wanted to go fast? Did you ever wanted to feel like your Attacks have become an DoT? Did you ever wanted to play a Life Based Dual Wield Evasion/Dodge Build?(no? me neither) Did you ever wanted to have like actual physical damage reduction? Did you ever wanted to just relax and dont have to worry about managing your flasks? If you answered the Questions above with "yes" than this is the Build for you! Build mechanics
We are using the Unique Belt Soulthirst for the Unique effect "Gain Soul Eater while using a Flask" try getting one with as low reduced flask effect duration as possible Soul Eater is a buff that grants 5% increased attack and cast speed, 5% increased elemental resistances, 5% additional Physical Damage Reduction, and 1% increased character size per Soul. every Enemy you kill (except totems) grants 1 Soul We are also using a Saturated Sanctified Mana Flask because this flask has the longest duration of any flask in the Game. so we need to make sure to keep us on low mana so that the flask effect dosen't end early by filling our Mana up to full. for this we are using 2 copies of the unique Jewel Fevered Mind for the 100% increased Mana Cost of Skills. In order for us to keep Attacking we are using a Soul Taker for the Mod "Insufficient Mana doesn't prevent your Melee Attacks"
Uniques
Soul Taker to susatin Attacks. Needs to be in the Main hand to be able to use Leap Slam. Bino's Kitchen Knife We are using Bino's in order to Use Blade Flurry. (Because Reave AoE sucks in 2.6 and there is no other alternative that Reave) 2x Fevered Mind so that use a lot of mana to be always on low Mana Abyssus Extra Added Phys + Huge Crit Multi. nothing more to say. Daresso's Defiance Endurace charge generation, fo the case that our Soul eater falls of and we run into an Reflect mob. Inspired Learning for some mini Headhunter action and of cause Soulthirst Because this is the Item the Build is built around
Leveling this Build
to level this build. just juse any melee skill / leveling items that you want till level 28 when you can use Blade Flurry. try getting a Soulthirst before level 50, so that you can equip it at level 50 when the Sanctified Mana Flask becomes available. equip the rest of your uniques as soon as they become available.
Passive Skill Tree
Leveling Skill tree this tree is fairly linear. so your progresion should not be a problem. just takes the points along the main path. grab the jewel socket near vaal packt last. transition SKill tree respec the traveling nodes from Scion to Duelist. Grab Duelist start and Vaal Pact. the next passives you should take are the Frenzy and dagger nodes. after those grab the rest of the life nodes. Final Skill Tree Passive choices explained we take the Assasin  ascendancy for Crit and Power Charge generationand the Slayer  ascendancy for life leech and culling strike. we also take the Duelist Starting Point ascendancy pointInspired Learning is placed here We take "Druidic Rite" for the "20% increased Flask eddect duration" We also take "Herbalism" because it is a "10% increased maximum life" node and it allowes us to use Inspired Learning even though it increases our flask recovery speed

Normal - Oak Curel - Kill All Merciless - Alira
Gem Links
Main 6l. (you will need at least a 5l) on a 5l drop Added fire or Crit Multi Movement 4l. use Leap Slam if Whirling Blades if to fast and you only go back and forth CwDT 4l. Duration 3l. Aura 3l. (Enlighten is not necessary.) you can use any curse you like except Assasin's Mark, Poacher's Mark and Warlord's Mark, because they provide Mana sustain and we dont want that in the other 4l you can use what ever you want. i would suggest putting your Golem and a conc effect to swap for bosses in there.

-Fast and Safe even as Life Based. -Extremely fun -Memes included -Fairly cheap -Not the best build for a beginner

i loved those max defenses and attack speed screenshots lol, i'll probably try to play this build later in the league, my only concern is if my pc will handle soul eater fine, but whatever, i'll still try, looks fun

Needless to say is this build T16 viable?

" (Im Writing this on my Phone, so my german Auto corrertion May cause some spelling mistakes. Sorry for that.) Yes, this Build ist T16 Viable. Only the Guardians themself are Kind of a bitch with this Build. Since this is a very momentum based Build. And in Boss Fights without Soul eater you are basicly just a Blade Flurry Build. (And im not that good of a Player. First this look a funny build and want to do it for my scion i understand what i need to do with the passive skill tree, but what i need to go the most efective possible in merciles? i see is not the most easy build but ur help can be apreciated :) thx in advance! |
