The main problems with melee splash have always been damage related, rather than AoE issues. This gem is less multiplier AND on top of it in 90% of melee builds using it, goes hand in hand with multistrike, yet another less multiplier.

I will tell you what the handicapped balance team did - they hit the few overgeared chars able to afford inc. AoE in their setup for faster clear speed, instead of a dps based gem, due to godly gear worth tens if not hundreds of exalts. The average Joe won't even notice, his sucky average melee build will suck the same way as before.

good thing i was planning on going with a totally spell based elemental sorta build at least at the start. right?

..i mean sure i kinda wanted them to actually FIX claws..and melee in general so i could make a fun reave build later to just screw around with. whatever though... i can roll with spell casting stuff the whole time... it just seems rather boring.

would seem like an odd thing to do see as there tryig to make them more useable but crazier things have happened it seems.. like nerfing melee splash hahahaha
