constantly crashes - "out of memory" / fresh install / packcheck OK

when entering a new area ( mostly its MARKET in act 3) my game crashs
its a fresh install on a SSD, with fresh windows XP
i ran packcheck 2 times, and it said always evrything is fine.
i have 3.5GB RAM, 512MB memory on graphiccard, 110GB free on drive.

Same issue. Auto crash whenever I attempt to go from Act1 base to first area. "Out of memory"? No, you are not, you are at just 1,5 GB, not on 2+GB.

first i thought now its ok,

but after some hours it crashed again,

Forum search hard to use...

"If you're frequently getting a "E_OUTOFMEMORY" or "Unable to Map File" error when changing areas, try turning Texture Quality down, or put -gc 2 at the end of your Path of Exile shortcut (Open the shortcut properties, and add a { -gc 2} after the last quotation mark). If this still doesn't help, try -gc 1. Doing this will increase load times between areas you have visited, and similar areas."

Act 3 needs alot more memory, because the maps are much bigger.

Edit: You can also try to close all backgroundprograms.

its a windows XP only prob in act3 the game needs more than 2 gigs ....>>.. win XP can only see 2 gigs (evan if you have larger amount fitted to motherboard)

devs said thay are working on it .... but its been alot of weeks now and devs have been quiet ;-(

i can do act 1 + 2 all day and have leveled up other chars to end of VaaL fight(act 2) with No crashes but Act 3 crashes every waypoint/teleport ;-(

Unplayable for me right now.Crash after crash after crash. Is there a race ending or something? Seems like when races end the game stops working properly a few times I noticed.Or is it the weekend warriors all trying to log in at the same time? It's so odd the game will run great for me for days on end and then all of a sudden things go to shit. Never the less this sucks...
Crashes for me upon loading screen for level change to any level other than town after entering an area in act 2. several E_RANOUTOFMEMORY error dialogs. It's unfortunate because I just upgraded my memory from 3gb to 3.5gb hoping it would make some difference, however it hasn't made any difference whatsoever. This is with "-gc 2" in command line, with lowest graphics settings, and on administrator account. Using Windows 7 32-bit with a core 2 quad & nvidia geforce gts 250. All other games run fine...

If you have a 32 bit system with at least 4gb of RAM,then you just need to increase the UserVa to 3072.

just google "/bcdedit set IncreaseUserVa 3072" if you are on Vista / W7 and so on.

if you are on XP,google "/3GB switch".

you'll see this will solve your out_of_memory issue :)
